The showcase for organic vegetables from the valley of gardens, in Ronzo-Chienis
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Val di Gresta Organic and Integrated Produce Exhibition and Market is the most anticipated autumn event in Ronzo-Chienis, located in the heart of the Vallagarina valley in Trentino-Alto Adige. Organized by the Val di Gresta Fruit and Vegetable Consortium, the exhibition is dedicated to vegetables grown on the sunny terraces overlooking Lake Garda, in what is universally known as the "valley of gardens."
Val di Gresta is now one of the most representative organic districts in Trentino, with almost all production having converted to organic farming methods. The Consortium brings together dozens of cooperatives that bring thousands of quintals of potatoes, carrots, cabbage, and other mountain vegetables to the stalls each year, alongside preserves, jams, and processed goods. The exhibition serves as a showcase for this agricultural, cultural, and tourist heritage of the entire municipality of Ronzo-Chienis and the Province of Trento.
The beating heart of the event is the Giro dei Volti, a roaming culinary tour that guides visitors through various stops to discover dishes from local restaurants and products from the Consortium. The event also features seasonal themed lunches and, in some editions, star-studded appointments with renowned local chefs like Alfio Ghezzi.
Defined as an "agricultural, cultural, and tourist heritage of all Trentino," the Val di Gresta Exhibition is much more than a festival: it is a celebration of mountain agriculture built on hard work, simplicity, and respect for the land. As the President of the Consortium and Mayor of Ronzo-Chienis notes, the inauguration is held with sobriety, "just as the life of those who work in the fields is sober." An authentic event, immersed in the colors of the Trentino autumn, just a few kilometers from Rovereto and the shores of Lake Garda.
The dates for the 2026 edition of the Val di Gresta Market Exhibition have not yet been made official. Traditionally, the event is expected to take place between late September and early October, with the usual format concentrated over a few Sundays in Ronzo-Chienis. The program, including the market, workshops, music, and the Giro dei Volti, will be announced by the Val di Gresta Fruit and Vegetable Consortium in the weeks leading up to the event.
Ronzo-Chienis can be reached by car from the A22 motorway exit at Rovereto Sud or Mori, then heading up towards Val di Gresta. The nearest train station is Rovereto, on the Brenner line. The event area is located on Via Longa, at the headquarters of the Val di Gresta Fruit and Vegetable Consortium.
Admission to the exhibition and market is free. The "Giro dei Volti" culinary tour requires a ticket (approximately 18 euros). Themed lunches and chef events may have specific costs, and booking is recommended.
The recommended time to visit is between late September and early October. Layered clothing and comfortable shoes are recommended for walking among the terraces.
