About Val di Gresta Market Exhibition

Every autumn, the Val di Gresta—Trentino's famous "valley of gardens"—celebrates its organic produce with the Val di Gresta Typical Products Exhibition and Market in Ronzo-Chienis. Organized by the Val di Gresta Fruit and Vegetable Consortium, the event features a market, workshops, live music, and the renowned "Giro dei Volti," a culinary tour through the valley's flavors. Potatoes, carrots, and cabbages grown on the sunny terraces above Lake Garda are the stars of this celebration of taste and land.

The Val di Gresta organic vegetable festival

The Val di Gresta Organic and Integrated Produce Exhibition and Market is the most anticipated autumn event in Ronzo-Chienis, located in the heart of the Vallagarina valley in Trentino-Alto Adige. Organized by the Val di Gresta Fruit and Vegetable Consortium, the exhibition is dedicated to vegetables grown on the sunny terraces overlooking Lake Garda, in what is universally known as the "valley of gardens."

An organic district of excellence

Val di Gresta is now one of the most representative organic districts in Trentino, with almost all production having converted to organic farming methods. The Consortium brings together dozens of cooperatives that bring thousands of quintals of potatoes, carrots, cabbage, and other mountain vegetables to the stalls each year, alongside preserves, jams, and processed goods. The exhibition serves as a showcase for this agricultural, cultural, and tourist heritage of the entire municipality of Ronzo-Chienis and the Province of Trento.

The Giro dei Volti and culinary experiences

The beating heart of the event is the Giro dei Volti, a roaming culinary tour that guides visitors through various stops to discover dishes from local restaurants and products from the Consortium. The event also features seasonal themed lunches and, in some editions, star-studded appointments with renowned local chefs like Alfio Ghezzi.

A program for the whole family

  • Craft market and direct sales of the valley's organic products;
  • Children's workshops dedicated to discovering vegetables;
  • Live music with the Mori-Brentonico Social Band and local groups;
  • Tourist train to visit the cultivated fields and terraces;
  • Guided tours of the Consortium headquarters and local agricultural cooperatives.

A Trentino heritage

Defined as an "agricultural, cultural, and tourist heritage of all Trentino," the Val di Gresta Exhibition is much more than a festival: it is a celebration of mountain agriculture built on hard work, simplicity, and respect for the land. As the President of the Consortium and Mayor of Ronzo-Chienis notes, the inauguration is held with sobriety, "just as the life of those who work in the fields is sober." An authentic event, immersed in the colors of the Trentino autumn, just a few kilometers from Rovereto and the shores of Lake Garda.
