The historic grape harvest march through the vineyards of the Valle dei Laghi
Grasparola is an autumn tradition that blends sport, farming heritage, and conviviality in Pergolese, a small village in the municipality of Madruzzo, in the heart of the Valle dei Laghi, in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). The name itself comes from graspa, the local term for a bunch of grapes; the event was originally created as a non-competitive march to celebrate the end of the agricultural year and the conclusion of the harvest in a land dedicated to viticulture, overlooking the northern end of Lake Garda.
Organized by the Gruppo Sportivo Pergolese, Grasparola boasts over half a century of history and is now one of the most established and well-known walking events in the Trentino region. What began as a simple village walk has evolved into a multi-day festival, featuring a large marquee in the festival park that hosts dining and musical entertainment.
The sporting heart of the event is the non-competitive march, with staggered starts from the Pergolese sports center. The routes wind through the roads and paths that run between the valley floor vineyards and the sunny hillside slopes, offering sweeping panoramic views of the Valle dei Laghi.
The walk is complemented by several festive evenings featuring live music and traditional cuisine, which bring the Pergolese festival park to life and keep the celebration going late into the night. The Sunday of the march is traditionally rounded off with a community lunch and entertainment under the marquee.
Grasparola is a defining moment for the community of Pergolese and the entire municipality of Madruzzo: a way to celebrate the bond with the land and the vine, while showcasing the landscapes of the Valle dei Laghi during a particularly evocative time of year, when the vineyards turn the vibrant colors of autumn.
The 2026 edition of the Grasparola, the 52nd, is spread over two weekends in Pergolese, a village in the municipality of Madruzzo (Valle dei Laghi, Trentino). The first weekend, Friday, October 9 and Saturday, October 10, is dedicated to evenings with musical and gastronomic entertainment in the festival park. The second, from Saturday, October 17 to Sunday, October 18, culminates with the traditional non-competitive march on Sunday, followed by lunch and entertainment under the marquee.
The routes cross the valley and hillside vineyards of the Valle dei Laghi, with views toward Lake Garda.
First weekend — Friday, October 9 and Saturday, October 10, 2026: evenings with live music and traditional cuisine in the Pergolese festival park.
Second weekend — Saturday, October 17: festive evening with entertainment. Sunday, October 18: non-competitive march (18, 11, and 4 km routes) with staggered starts from the sports center, Grasparola-bike eco-tour, lunch, and afternoon/evening entertainment under the marquee.
