The antique and second-hand market in the historic center of Rovereto, held every first Saturday of the month.
The Mercatino d'Altri Tempi is one of the most beloved and long-standing events in the historic center of Rovereto, located in the heart of the Vallagarina valley in the province of Trento. Every first Saturday of the month, the city's streets and squares fill with stalls laden with vintage items, curiosities, and forgotten treasures, creating an atmosphere that blends a passion for collecting with the pleasure of a stroll through the city's 18th-century architecture.
Active without interruption since 1998, the market is organized by the Circolo Culturale Numismatico Filatelico Roveretano, a non-profit association founded in 1993, in collaboration with the Municipality of Rovereto. Over the years, it has become a true landmark for enthusiasts, collectors, and curious visitors alike, drawing people from neighboring towns in the Vallagarina and across the entire Trentino-Alto Adige region.
This market is not a traditional antique fair, but an exhibition of hobbyists with official registration, where the value of individual items remains accessible and the focus is on variety. Strolling among the stalls, you will encounter collectibles, costume jewelry, vintage books and magazines, paintings and prints, vinyl records, vintage clothing, ceramics and earthenware, frames, ornaments, handicrafts, folk artifacts, and naturally, coins and stamps, in homage to the numismatic and philatelic vocation of the organizing association.
The market route starts from Via Giovanni Tartarotti and winds through the heart of the historic center, including Piazza Damiano Chiesa, Largo Foibe, Via Roma, Piazza Malfatti, and Piazza delle Erbe. Its layout along the main streets allows visitors to combine their market visit with the discovery of Rovereto, a city of peace known for the Mart museum, the Italian War History Museum, and the Bell of the Fallen.
With about a hundred registered exhibitors, the Mercatino d'Altri Tempi is one of the most deeply rooted recurring events on Rovereto's calendar. In accordance with provincial regulations, the market is held on a set number of days per year, distributed from February to December, with the traditional break in January.
The Mercatino d'Altri Tempi confirms its monthly appointment in the historic center of Rovereto for 2026. The days are held every first Saturday of the month, with the only break in January: the calendar runs from February to December, with the next summer date scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2026.
Organization is handled as every year by the Circolo Culturale Numismatico Filatelico Roveretano in collaboration with the Municipality of Rovereto. The formula remains the proven one: about a hundred hobbyist exhibitors arranged along Via Tartarotti, Piazza Damiano Chiesa, and the other squares in the center, with free entry for visitors from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Each day follows the same proven schedule:
Collectibles, costume jewelry, books and magazines, paintings and prints, vinyl records, vintage clothing, ceramics and earthenware, frames, ornaments, handicrafts, folk artifacts, coins, and stamps.
Every first Saturday of the month, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Suspended in January; held from February to December.
