The autumn festival in the chestnut grove above Nago, featuring roasted chestnuts, local flavors, and live music
The Monte Corno Chestnut Festival in Nago is the event that brings the Alto Garda community to the picturesque Monte Corno chestnut grove every October. Located on the heights overlooking the town of Nago, in the municipality of Nago-Torbole, in the province of Trento and the Trentino-Alto Adige region, the festival blends the harvest and appreciation of chestnuts with the simple, genuine conviviality of mountain fairs.
The heart of the festival is, naturally, the chestnut, the absolute star of the day. The menu offers local specialties in a simple and convivial style:
Everything is served directly in the woods, in an informal atmosphere that invites you to sit among the chestnut trees and enjoy the tranquility of autumn on Lake Garda.
The day is accompanied by live music, providing the soundtrack for gatherings of friends and families. The Chestnut Festival is above all a moment of community bonding: an opportunity to rediscover the ancient link between the people of Nago and their chestnut grove, which is maintained and promoted by the Associazione Castagneto Monte Corno di Nago, an organization dedicated to protecting this natural heritage and local traditions.
The setting is one of the most characteristic chestnut groves in southern Trentino, overlooking the Alto Garda. It is accessible on foot via a short, marked trail starting from Nago—a walk suitable for everyone that offers glimpses of the surrounding landscape. The festival takes place outdoors and is therefore weather-dependent: in case of rain, the event will be cancelled.
The Monte Corno Chestnut Festival is one of the most cherished autumn events in the municipality of Nago-Torbole and the entire Alto Garda Trentino area. Genuine, deeply rooted in the territory, and organized with passion by local volunteers, it is the ideal occasion to experience the Trentino autumn through local flavors, nature, and good company.
