Trentino's mountain bubbles amidst vineyards, historic palaces, and culture
The Trentodoc Festival is the event that celebrates the mountain bubbles of Trentino, the Metodo Classico sparkling wines produced in the Dolomites and the valleys surrounding Trento, in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige. For three days, the regional capital transforms into a hub of quality wine, with a widespread program involving the historic center of the Municipality of Trento and wineries scattered across the province.
Trentodoc was born from the intuition of Giulio Ferrari in the early 20th century and, in 1993, became the first Italian controlled designation of origin reserved for Metodo Classico sparkling wines. Over one hundred labels, produced by dozens of sparkling wine houses associated with the Istituto Trentodoc, share this collective territorial brand. The festival showcases this unique identity, defined by high-altitude vineyards, significant temperature variations, and patient aging on the lees.
The event offers a rich and varied calendar that weaves together multiple disciplines:
Under the artistic direction of Luciano Ferraro, deputy editor of Corriere della Sera, the festival turns tasting into a well-rounded cultural experience, connecting wine with art, architecture, medicine, cinema, and music. The event is promoted by the Autonomous Province of Trento in partnership with the Istituto Trentodoc and Trentino Marketing, in collaboration with Corriere della Sera.
The Trentodoc Festival is now one of the flagship events for wine tourism in Trentino-Alto Adige, confirming the region's ambition to rank among Italy's top wine tourism destinations. The 2025 edition featured over one hundred and sixty events across three days, spanning the center of Trento and the local wineries, drawing a large and passionate audience.
The fifth edition of the Trentodoc Festival will be held in Trento from September 25th to 27th, 2026, between the historic center of the capital and the wineries of the Trentino region. As in previous editions, the festival will offer guided tastings, masterclasses, winery experiences, and meetings that weave wine with art, culture, and gastronomy, under the artistic direction of Luciano Ferraro. The dates are confirmed; the detailed program, including events, guests, locations, and booking procedures, will be announced by the organizers and published on the official website trentodocfestival.it. Tasting events will require payment and reservation.
Trento is easily accessible by train via the Brenner railway line (Verona-Bolzano-Munich). By car, take the Trento Centro or Trento Sud exit on the A22 Brenner motorway. The nearest airports are Verona Villafranca and Bergamo Orio al Serio.
Tasting events require payment and advance booking: it is recommended to purchase tickets in advance via the official website trentodocfestival.it, where the full program with locations, times, and prices is published.
The historic center of Trento offers numerous accommodation options; early booking is recommended during the festival days.
