About Dolo-Vini-Miti

Dolo-Vini-Miti is the vertical wine festival that brings together the Val di Cembra and Val di Fiemme valleys in Trentino every autumn. In Giovo, specifically in the village of Verla, the event finds one of its most evocative settings: the Villa Corniole winery and the local theatre host narrated tastings, immersive shows, and meetings dedicated to the heroic viticulture of the steep dry-stone terraced vineyards, where Müller Thurgau, Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Trentodoc are born at high altitude. It is a unique opportunity to discover the municipality of Giovo through its wines, vineyards, and landscapes.

Dolo-Vini-Miti, the vertical wine festival in Giovo

Dolo-Vini-Miti is a food and wine festival dedicated to vertical wines and heroic viticulture that unites the Val di Cembra and Val di Fiemme in the heart of Trentino every autumn. The festival is itinerant, spreading its events across numerous villages in both valleys: among these, the municipality of Giovo and its hamlet of Verla represent one of the most characteristic stops in the province of Trento, in the Trentino-Alto Adige region.

Verla di Giovo: between winery and theatre

In Giovo, the festival is deeply rooted in Verla, the municipal seat, where the Villa Corniole winery and the local theatre become the stages for the event. For years, Villa Corniole has hosted the festival's most spectacular evening, the mozARTWINExperience: an immersive tasting where the valley's wines are narrated through live music, theatrical storytelling, and lighting effects. The Verla theatre, meanwhile, hosts meetings and round-table discussions on the themes of mountain viticulture.

The heroic viticulture of Val di Cembra

Giovo is located in the lower Val di Cembra, a valley carved by the Avisio stream where vines climb steep slopes supported by hundreds of kilometres of dry-stone walls—a landscape officially recognised as a Historic Rural Landscape of Italy. Here, the harvest is still done by hand, and it is the realm of mountain grape varieties: Müller Thurgau, Riesling, Schiava, Pinot Noir, and Trentodoc sparkling wines, all defined as "heroic" due to the effort and passion required to cultivate them at altitudes above 700 metres.

A programme of taste, music, and culture

The Dolo-Vini-Miti stops in Giovo are part of a broader programme spread across both districts. Experiences offered in past editions include:

  • Narrated tastings and vertical flights of Trentodoc, Müller Thurgau, Riesling, and Pinot Noir;
  • Immersive shows in the winery, featuring live music and theatrical storytelling;
  • Round tables and meetings on the values of heroic viticulture and the wine landscape;
  • Gourmet wine trekking through terraced vineyards, with stops curated by local valley chefs;
  • Guided treks to discover vineyards, earth pyramids, and ancient churches.

Why attend

Dolo-Vini-Miti is an invitation to experience the territory at a slower pace. Visiting Giovo's wineries, listening to the winemakers' stories, walking through the rows of vines, and savouring typical Trentino products is the most authentic way to understand the value of these mountain wines. The event, which combines wine tourism, culture, and landscape, is promoted by the Valle di Cembra Tourist Association together with APT Fiemme e Cembra.
