About Dolo-Vini-Miti

Dolo-Vini-Miti is the vertical wine festival that brings the Val di Cembra and Val di Fiemme valleys in Trentino to life every autumn. It is a tribute to the heroic viticulture of steep dry-stone terraces, where Müller Thurgau, Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Trentodoc are born at altitudes above 700 meters. Iconic landmarks of the event include the famous Earth Pyramids of Segonzano, reached through guided treks that weave together tastings, gourmet wine hikes, masterclasses, conferences, and performances.

Dolo-Vini-Miti, the vertical wine festival

Dolo-Vini-Miti is a food and wine festival dedicated to vertical wines and heroic viticulture, held every autumn in the heart of the Trentino-Alto Adige region, spanning the Val di Cembra and Val di Fiemme. The event pays tribute to the terraced vineyards supported by famous dry-stone walls—over 700 kilometers of stone structures recognized as intangible heritage—which shape a unique landscape officially designated as an Italian Historic Rural Landscape. Among the festival's most iconic locations are the Earth Pyramids of Segonzano, spectacular glacial erosion columns topped with porphyry "caps," located in the municipality of Segonzano, in the province of Trento.

Heroic viticulture in Val di Cembra

Here, vines climb steep slopes rising from the Avisio stream, with elevation changes exceeding 700 meters, and the harvest is still carried out by hand, shoulder to shoulder. It is the realm of mountain grape varieties: Müller Thurgau, Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Trentodoc sparkling wines—wines defined as "heroic" due to the immense effort and passion required to cultivate them. Dolo-Vini-Miti was founded in 2023 to share this identity and guide visitors, enthusiasts, and the curious through local cellars, vineyards, and flavors.

Segonzano and the Earth Pyramids

The connection to Segonzano is highlighted by guided treks that lead participants to the Earth Pyramids, one of the most evocative natural monuments in Trentino, combining hiking, scenery, and tastings of mountain wines. The village and its hamlets are part of the Cembran heroic viticulture district showcased by the festival.

A program of vineyards, taste, and culture

The festival features over twenty events spread across the two districts. Experiences include:

  • Gourmet Wine Trekking: a walk through autumn vineyards with gourmet stops curated by valley chefs, including Alessandro Gilmozzi, paired with local wines;
  • Vertical tastings of Trentodoc, Müller Thurgau, Riesling, and Pinot Noir led by the producers themselves;
  • Caneve en festa: a convivial itinerary of tastings within the traditional caneve (cellars) of the villages;
  • Masterclasses with sommeliers and experts, conferences on the values of heroic viticulture, and evening performances;
  • Guided treks to discover vineyards, earth pyramids, and ancient parish churches, plus high-altitude aperitifs with views of the Dolomites in Val di Fiemme.

Why attend

Dolo-Vini-Miti is an invitation to experience the region at a slower pace: walking through the rows of vines, entering the cellars, listening to the winemakers' stories, and hiking to the Pyramids of Segonzano is the most authentic way to understand the value of these mountain wines. The event, which blends wine tourism, culture, and landscape, is promoted by the Valle di Cembra Tourist Association in partnership with APT Fiemme e Cembra.
