The autumn festival dedicated to pumpkins and winter vegetables in Lasino di Madruzzo
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Pumpkin and Winter Vegetable Festival is one of the most beloved autumn fairs in the Valle dei Laghi. It takes place in Lasino, a village in the Municipality of Madruzzo, in the province of Trento, in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige. Every year, during an October weekend, the town dresses up in the warm colors of the season to celebrate the queen of autumn: the pumpkin, the absolute star alongside the region's winter vegetables.
The event, organized by the Pro Loco Lasino-Lagolo with the support of local associations, offers a rich culinary trail served in marquees and town squares. The menu features traditional pumpkin and vegetable-based dishes: handmade pumpkin gnocchi, vegetable orzotto, minestrone and barley soups, polenta and sausages, potato tortel, and delicious autumn desserts like stuffed pastries and pumpkin fritters. All this is set in a rustic atmosphere, complete with vintage agricultural tools and themed decorations.
Alongside the gastronomy, the festival features a farmers' and craft market with local products, creative workshops and games for children, entertainment, music, and shows. Among the most anticipated events are the traditional pumpkin contests — for the heaviest, longest, most beautiful, and strangest — and the pumpkin hunt (or "vegetable garden hunt") through the town's gardens. Also unmissable is the "Vin de Caneva" wine competition, a friendly challenge between the valley's winemakers, with final awards for all winners.
Founded in the late 2000s and having grown with every edition, the Pumpkin Festival is now a symbol of autumn in Lasino and throughout the Valle dei Laghi. Recent editions — the twelfth in 2024 and the following in 2025 — have confirmed the strong appeal of this event, which attracts visitors from all over Trentino thanks to the combination of great food, rural tradition, and the genuine hospitality of the Madruzzo community.
The Pumpkin and Winter Vegetable Festival will return to Lasino (Municipality of Madruzzo, TN) in 2026, confirming its status as one of the key autumn fairs in the Valle dei Laghi. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced: the festival is traditionally held on a weekend in October. The detailed program — including the gastronomic trail, farmers' market, children's workshops, pumpkin contests, and the "Vin de Caneva" competition — will be communicated by the Pro Loco Lasino-Lagolo in the weeks leading up to the event. Admission, as per tradition, will be free.
