The Tortello Festival in Rosignano Solvay is one of the most beloved gastronomic events on the Livorno coast. Organized by the Pro Loco Io Amo Rosignano Solvay APS, the event takes place at the Giardini di Via Nazario Sauro, in the heart of Rosignano Solvay, a village in the municipality of Rosignano Marittimo, in the province of Livorno (Tuscany). For five days between late May and early June, the neighborhood comes alive with aromas, flavors, and conviviality, drawing in both residents and vacationers from the Etruscan Coast.

The tortello, the star of the table

The heart of the festival is, of course, the tortello, one of the most iconic dishes of popular Tuscan cuisine. At the food stand, run by Pro Loco volunteers, you can enjoy tortelli along with other local traditional specialties in a simple, family-friendly atmosphere. The festival is the perfect opportunity to rediscover the rich flavors of the region, featuring generous portions and local products, accompanied by music and entertainment for all ages.

An event spread between gardens and the seafront

The Tortello Festival is not limited to the food stalls: during the main days, the event is enriched by Craft Markets set up on the Lungomare Monte alla Rena, facing the Scoglietto. Between courses, visitors can enjoy some shopping, strolling along the sea and browsing the exhibitors' stalls. It is this blend of gastronomy, craftsmanship, and local life that makes the festival a deeply rooted tradition in the Rosignano Solvay community.

When it takes place

The festival is traditionally held in the latter part of May, extending into the first days of June, with a schedule that alternates between evenings and lunches. The format includes an evening opening on the inaugural day, while on subsequent days the stand is open for both lunch and dinner, closing with lunch on the final day. Given the high turnout, the Pro Loco recommends booking your table in advance.
