The major autumn fair on Viale delle Piagge in Pisa
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Scalzi Fair is one of the most iconic trade events in Pisa, Tuscany. It takes place on Viale delle Piagge, the stunning tree-lined avenue running along the Arno river that has always been a favorite walking spot for locals. The name pays homage to the nearby Church of San Michele degli Scalzi, whose leaning bell tower marks one end of the fairgrounds. The event stretches for about two kilometers, from the Ponte della Vittoria to the church, within a vast green area spanning several thousand square meters.
Organized by AlterEgo under the patronage of the Municipality of Pisa, the fair gathers over a hundred exhibitors from all over Italy. The selection is diverse and designed for the whole family, organized into several thematic areas:
Everything is free to enter, with continuous opening hours from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, allowing visitors to explore the fair at their leisure, even after work or in the evening.
Alongside the commercial stands, the Scalzi Fair is enriched by numerous side events promoted by the Le Piagge Committee and the Convivio Le Piagge Association: book presentations, exhibitions, theatrical performances, and musical shows enliven the neighborhood during the three-day event, giving the fair the spirit of a true community festival.
More than just a commercial fair, the Scalzi Fair is a defining event for the Le Piagge neighborhood and the entire city of Pisa. Walking along the avenue among ancient trees, surrounded by the aromas of fine food, plants, and artisanal crafts, is the best way to experience the autumn atmosphere of one of Tuscany's most famous art cities, just a short distance from the world-renowned Piazza dei Miracoli.
For 2026, the Scalzi Fair is scheduled on the Viale delle Piagge in Pisa for the weekend of September 25-27. This marks the eighth edition of an event that has become a staple of the city's autumn calendar.
The format remains the tried-and-tested one: free admission, continuous opening hours, and over a hundred exhibitors spread along the avenue across the three traditional areas: flavors and gastronomy, crafts and creativity, and gardening and technical-environmental sectors.
The 2026 dates are currently indicated by industry sources and have not yet been officially confirmed by the Municipality of Pisa; the detailed program of side cultural initiatives will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event. It is recommended to check for confirmation on the official channels of the organizer, AlterEgo Fiere.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition (book presentations, exhibitions, theatrical and musical performances promoted by the Le Piagge Committee and the Convivio Le Piagge Association) will be published in the weeks preceding the event. The usual structure includes the opening of stands with continuous hours from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM over the three days, with cultural events and performances concentrated mainly in the evening hours.
