A village festival in the heart of the Wine Road

The Sommerfest der FF Rungg is the summer highlight hosted by the Freiwillige Feuerwehr Rungg, the volunteer fire brigade of the small hamlet of Rungg (Ronchi). Perched among the vineyards above Termeno sulla strada del vino (Tramin an der Weinstraße) in the province of Bolzano, this village of just over a hundred inhabitants comes alive for this event. It is a classic Vereinsfest—a local association festival that defines the summer in every South Tyrolean town—where the entire community gathers to support their local volunteers.

Grilled specialties, Traminer wines, and live music

The evening takes place at the covered festival grounds (Festplatz) in Termeno, a sheltered space that ensures the party goes on regardless of the weather. The program follows the tried-and-tested South Tyrolean formula: grilled delicacies and traditional rustic dishes, refreshing drinks, and, above all, the local wines for which this region is famous. Since Rungg and Termeno are the birthplace of the Gewürztraminer—the celebrated aromatic grape variety that takes its name from Tramin—sipping a glass under the festival lights is an essential part of the experience. The evening is accompanied by live music, with entertainment designed for families, young people, and seniors alike.
