About LaivEstate

LaivEstate / LeiferSommer is the major umbrella for summer events in the City of Laives, in the province of Bolzano. From June to September, over fifty events bring Laives, San Giacomo, Pineta, and La Costa to life with concerts, popular festivals, art exhibitions, gastronomic evenings, and sporting events. The program is coordinated by the Laives Culture Committee in partnership with the Municipality and local associations.

LaivEstate / LeiferSommer, the widespread summer of Laives

LaivEstate / LeiferSommer is the calendar that brings together the summer events of the City of Laives (Leifers), the second most populous municipality in the province of Bolzano, in Trentino-Alto Adige. Every year, from June to September, over fifty events transform the main town and its hamlets—San Giacomo, Pineta, and La Costa—into an open-air stage. The program is coordinated by the Laives Culture Committee in collaboration with the Municipality and the numerous cultural, sporting, and social associations in the area, in a perfect bilingual Italian-German style.

A multidisciplinary program

The offering is intentionally diverse and designed for all ages: classical and pop music concerts, village festivals, food fairs and gastronomic evenings, art exhibitions, book presentations, family shows, sporting events, and South Tyrolean folk traditions alternate throughout the season. The calendar spans the squares, streets, libraries, and churches of Laives, offering residents and tourists a reason to liven up every summer weekend.

The "Long Saturdays"

The heart of the programming consists of the three "Long Saturdays," the major event days that mark the summer: Music on the Street, the widespread musical festival curated by the South Tyrol Musicians Association across Via Kennedy, Via Pietralba, and the new square; the Millenium concert-event, dedicated to the hits of the 80s, 90s, and 2000s; and the Sports Festival, which closes the season with demonstrations and activities open to everyone.

Culture, music, and tradition

Among the most anticipated events are the performance of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana in Piazza Municipio, featuring the Orchestra Sinfonica delle Alpi and an impressive choral ensemble, art exhibitions and artist residencies in San Giacomo, chamber music concerts, dance evenings in Pineta, and parish festivals. The calendar also intertwines with important sporting events hosted in Laives and Pineta.

An event of the City of Laives

LaivEstate / LeiferSommer is a project of the City of Laives, promoted through the Laives Culture Committee, which gives a voice to the entire local associative fabric. It represents one of the most defining events of the summer in the lower Adige Valley, capable of uniting the Italian and German-speaking communities in a single great season of events.

LaivEstate — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of LaivEstate / LeiferSommer brings about fifty events to Laives from June to September 27. The final program was presented by the City of Laives and the Laives Culture Committee and revolves around three major "Long Saturdays," accompanied by concerts, exhibitions, sporting events, and gastronomic evenings throughout the municipal area.

The season is marked by three major event days: Music on the Street on July 18, the second edition of the widespread musical festival curated by the South Tyrol Musicians Association across Via Kennedy, Via Pietralba, and the new square; the Millenium concert-event on August 8, dedicated to the hits of the 80s, 90s, and 2000s; and the Sports Festival on September 5.
