The Fritto Misto Festival in Torre San Giorgio is one of the most deeply rooted gastronomic events in the Saluzzese territory, located in the Province of Cuneo, in the heart of Piedmont. Every year, coinciding with the celebrations for the patron saint San Giorgio, this small town of just over seven hundred inhabitants transforms into a capital of taste, welcoming thousands of visitors drawn by the aroma of the traditional Piedmontese mixed fry.
The Piedmontese mixed fry takes center stage
The dish that gives the festival its name is the fritto misto alla piemontese, a rich medley that alternates sweet and savory flavors: meats, vegetables, semolina, amaretti cookies, and fruit, all strictly breaded and fried according to tradition. The dishes are prepared by the Confraternita del Fritto Misto, supported by over fifty volunteers—the true driving force behind an event entirely managed by the local community in collaboration with the Municipality of Torre San Giorgio.
Program and events
The festival spans four days packed with events that weave together cuisine, culture, sports, and entertainment:
- Talks and meetings at the PalaTorre, such as the session dedicated to sports and perseverance with guests from the sporting world;
- Singing dinners and evenings with live music, bands, and DJ sets;
- Vintage Vespa and motorcycle rally, now a Saturday classic;
- Fitwalking and outdoor activities for sports enthusiasts;
- Market and stalls through the village streets;
- Mass and procession of the patron saint San Giorgio on Sunday morning;
- Entertainment for families and children on the final afternoon.
Tradition and innovation
Alongside the classic recipe, the festival introduces new gastronomic offerings each year: fried food in a cone in sweet, savory, and seafood versions, and special pairings like Trippa di Moncalieri accompanied by wines from the Enoteca Regionale del Roero. It is a way to showcase Piedmont's excellence and create partnerships between territories and local products.

L'edizione 2026 della Sagra del Fritto Misto di Torre San Giorgio si è tenuta da giovedì 23 a domenica 26 aprile, articolata su quattro giornate ricche di appuntamenti.
Il programma giorno per giorno
- Giovedì 23 aprile: alle 18:30 talk Intrecci di eccellenze al PalaTorre dedicato a sport e tenacia con Giusy Versace, Marco Galliano e Gabriele Costamagna; in serata cena di apertura con Trippa di Moncalieri e vini del Roero, seguita dalla cena cantata con dj.
- Venerdì 24 aprile: cena della sagra con la live band First Date e dj Cly.
- Sabato 25 aprile: mercatino, 12° raduno di Vespe e moto d'epoca, fitwalking, pranzo con musica dal vivo e in serata la festa giovani IninTORREttamente.
- Domenica 26 aprile: messa e processione del patrono San Giorgio alle 10:00, pranzo della sagra e pomeriggio Fritto-Play per le famiglie in Piazza Cravero.
Le novità
Tra le proposte di quest'anno il fritto al cartoccio in versione dolce, salata e di pesce e il gemellaggio culinario con la Trippa di Moncalieri abbinata ai vini dell'Enoteca Regionale del Roero.

Mattino mercatino, 12° raduno Vespe e moto d'epoca, fitwalking; 13:00 pranzo con musica dal vivo; 20:00 festa giovani 'IninTORREttamente'.
Domenica 26 aprile
10:00 messa e processione del patrono San Giorgio; 12:00 pranzo della sagra; 14:30 'Fritto-Play' per le famiglie in Piazza Cravero.

Torre San Giorgio is located in the Saluzzese plains, in the Province of Cuneo. By car, it is accessible via the SP road to Saluzzo and Savigliano; the nearest train station is in Savigliano, on the Turin-Cuneo line, just a few kilometers away.

The events are held at the PalaTorre and in the squares of the village's historic center.
