One of Italy's most prestigious antique markets, set in the Baroque heart of Cherasco
Five times a year, always on a Sunday, the historic center of Cherasco (province of Cuneo, Piedmont) dresses up to host one of the most renowned antique and collectibles markets in Italy. Throughout the day, the streets of the Baroque heart of the so-called 'City of Peace' (Città delle Paci), along with its squares, porticoes, and gardens beyond the Arco del Belvedere, come alive with hundreds of stalls. In the largest editions, the number of exhibitors exceeds 600, making this a true landmark event that attracts thousands of visitors from every corner of the country and beyond.
The selection is vast and high-quality: antique furniture, tableware, glassware, pottery, ceramics and porcelain, vintage tools, textiles, books and prints, vinyl records, toys, coins, watches, lamps, and unique collectibles, as well as vintage fashion items, from clothing to accessories. It is the combination of high-quality merchandise and the scenic backdrop—Baroque palaces, 17th-century churches, and monumental arches—that makes the Cherasco market a unique experience for collectors, curious visitors, and lovers of beauty.
The antique markets of Cherasco are events with a tradition dating back to the 1980s. For over thirty years, on market Sundays, the historic center has been completely pedestrianized, and its orthogonal streets have been filled with stalls. The numbering of the editions has now surpassed the 140th, a sign of the uninterrupted continuity that has made this town in the Cuneo area one of Italy's capitals of antiques, alongside Arezzo and a few others.
Market days are often accompanied by exhibitions and special openings: art displays are set up at Palazzo Salmatoris and the Church of San Gregorio, while the city offers the chance to visit gems such as the Synagogue and the Museum of Magic. It is a great opportunity to discover, beyond the stalls, the historical and architectural heritage of Cherasco.
The 2026 calendar for the Cherasco antique market confirms the usual rhythm of five Sundays spread throughout the year, from spring until the Christmas season. Each edition transforms the historic center into a large open-air gallery, with stalls scattered among streets, squares, and porticoes, and the city entirely closed to traffic.
