Seven guided walks to uncover the soul of the City of Peace
In the heart of southwestern Piedmont, in the province of Cuneo, Cherasco is renowned as the "City of Peace" and a "star-shaped city" due to its orderly, symmetrical urban layout. With the Walking Tour — Discovering Cherasco is a Walk in the Park series, the local Tourist Office guides the public through a sequence of themed walks that, one Sunday a month from April to October, unveil corners, details, and stories often missed by the casual observer.
Each event features a unique theme: these are not your typical guided tours, but rather a genuine exploration of the city, built around a specific narrative thread. The walks last about an hour and a half, starting in the afternoon from the Tourist Office on Via Vittorio Emanuele and winding through the squares, churches, courtyards, and arcades of the historic center.
The 2026 calendar offers seven stages, each providing a distinct perspective on the city:
The series' formula focuses on variety: those who attend multiple events discover a different Cherasco each time, from its spiritual dimension to its more playful and familiar side, all the way to the mysterious charm of the final autumn stage. It is an ideal opportunity for those visiting the Langhe and Roero regions who wish to complement their gastronomic exploration with an authentic cultural deep dive, narrated directly by the city's Tourist Office.
The Walking Tours are part of the broader tourism offering of Cherasco and the province of Cuneo, in Piedmont, and serve as a benchmark for those wanting to learn about the town's historical, artistic, and architectural heritage under the guidance of those who know it best.
The 2026 program confirms the monthly format of the Discovering Cherasco is a Walk in the Park series, with seven Sunday afternoon events. The scheduled stops are: April 26 (Cherasco star-shaped city), May 31 (Marian cult), June 28 (Cherasco under the lens), July 26 (visual chronicles with historical photos), August 30 (Baroque stuccoes in the churches of San Gregorio and Sant'Agostino), September 27 (Historical Archive), and October 25 (Cherasco noir).
Each walk lasts about 90 minutes, meeting at 4:30 PM at the Tourist Office on Via Vittorio Emanuele 79. The cost is 7 euros per person and booking is mandatory at www.visitlmr.it.
