The gourmet food and wine walk through the historic courtyards of Bra
Da Cortile a Cortile is the event that transforms the historic center of Bra, in the province of Cuneo, into a vast culinary itinerary every autumn. The formula is simple and irresistible: a gourmet food and wine walk that winds through over one hundred public and private courtyards—spaces usually closed to the public that open their doors for one day to host tastings, music, and culture. It is the perfect way to discover the city's architectural treasures and the immense culinary and wine heritage of the Langhe and Roero regions.
Participants follow a wandering itinerary that touches some of the most evocative spots in Bra: starting from Piazza Caduti per la Libertà, the route continues stop by stop toward Palazzo Traversa, the Zizzola atop Monte Guglielmo, the gardens of the Belvedere della Rocca, Corso Garibaldi, and Palazzo Garrone. Each stop features a traditional dish, from an appetizer with focaccia and Bra sausage to the final dessert, all accompanied by wines from Roero producers.
What makes Da Cortile a Cortile special is the cultural dimension that surrounds the walk. Throughout the courtyards and squares of the center, you will find concerts, photography exhibitions, craft displays, theatrical performances, and activities for children. City museums remain open with extended hours, and guided tours of the historic center are organized, combining gastronomic discovery with an exploration of Bra's heritage.
It is no coincidence that this event was born in Bra: the small town in the Roero is the birthplace of Slow Food and one of the world capitals of the culture of good, clean, and fair food. Da Cortile a Cortile perfectly embodies this philosophy, inviting visitors to slow down, stroll without haste, and savor the territory one courtyard at a time. The event is organized by the Municipality of Bra through the Tourism and Events Office.
As one of the major events of the Bra autumn, Da Cortile a Cortile attracts hundreds of participants every year, with departure slots often selling out in advance. If you love Piedmont, the food and wine of the Langhe and Roero, and experiences that blend flavors, history, and conviviality, this walk is one of the most authentic dates to mark on your calendar.
The new edition of Da Cortile a Cortile will be held in Bra on Sunday, October 4, 2026, confirming the autumn appointment with the gourmet walk through the city's historic courtyards.
As per tradition, the itinerary will cross over one hundred public and private courtyards in the center, with stops dedicated to typical Piedmontese dishes paired with wines from Roero producers, and a program of concerts, exhibitions, performances, and guided tours spread throughout the city's courtyards and squares.
The detailed 2026 program—including the route, full menu, departure slots, and booking procedures—will be announced by the Municipality of Bra closer to the event. For information, you can contact the Tourism Office at +39 0172 430185.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be published by the Municipality of Bra in the weeks leading up to the event.
Based on past editions, the day includes the gourmet walk starting from Piazza Caduti per la Libertà with stops in the main courtyards and historic palaces of the center (Palazzo Traversa, the Zizzola, the Belvedere della Rocca, Palazzo Garrone), accompanied by concerts, exhibitions, craft displays, activities for children, and guided tours of the historic center, with city museums open with extended hours.
Bra is easily accessible by car from the A6 Turin-Savona motorway (Marene exit) or the A33 Asti-Cuneo motorway. By train, the Bra station is served by regional lines from Turin, Cavallermaggiore, and Cuneo. The historic center, where the event takes place, is just a few minutes' walk from the station.
The gourmet walk has a limited capacity, and booking is mandatory. Reservations can be made through the Tourism Office of the Municipality of Bra: phone +39 0172 430185, email [email protected].
Wear comfortable shoes: the itinerary is entirely on foot through the courtyards and streets of the historic center. Check the departure times when booking, as spots are limited and tend to sell out quickly.
