Monthly educational market and exchange fair for farm animals in Val Pellice
The Lusernetta Small Animal Exchange Fair is a monthly event dedicated to the world of farm animals and amateur breeding, enlivening the Municipality of Lusernetta in the Val Pellice, in the province of Turin, Piedmont. Organized by the Small Animal Breeders Association (AAPA), chaired by Fredi Charbonnier, the event takes place every third Sunday of the month, from 7 am to 1 pm, in the school square on Via Ponte Pietra.
The initiative began in 2025 in Luserna San Giovanni, where it was held monthly in the covered market square. Its growing success and requests from various local towns prompted the association's board to seek a new venue. For logistical and economic reasons, and with a desire to remain in Val Pellice, they chose Lusernetta. The municipality welcomed the association by providing the square for free, along with an office at the town hall and storage space. The first edition in Lusernetta was held on April 19, 2026.
The heart of the event is the exchange fair: breeders, hobbyists, and curious visitors meet to exhibit and trade farm animals and small livestock. Over the years, various species have been featured, from farm animals to birds, rabbits, chicks, and even birds of prey. Alongside the amateur trade, the association manages an educational dimension designed primarily for families and children, helping them learn about animals and good breeding practices up close.
The event is part of the Piedmontese tradition of small animal markets, which are widespread between the Pinerolo area and Val Pellice. The AAPA also organizes a sister event in Bagnolo Piemonte, held on the last Sunday of every month under the portico of Largo Berlinguer. Admission to the Lusernetta fair is free, and the atmosphere is that of a genuine, convivial village market, attracting enthusiasts, families, and visitors looking for a unique Sunday outing.
Participation as an exhibitor is open to breeders and enthusiasts; booking by contacting the association is appreciated. For information, you can use the AAPA email address or the phone numbers of the contacts.
