The chocolate and sweets festival in the heart of Cascina
Every January, Corso Matteotti in Cascina, in the province of Pisa, transforms into a grand trail of taste with Cioccolato & Co, a festival dedicated to chocolate, sweets, and local excellence. For two full days, from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, the historic center of this Tuscan town hosts dozens of stalls where you can stroll at your leisure, browse the open-air displays, and indulge in tastings and aromas.
The event has become a staple of the local winter calendar: launched in 2024, it returns in 2026 for its third edition, once again in the heart of the city. It is organized by Confesercenti Valdera-Cuoio Valdicecina with the patronage of the Cascina municipal administration, serving as a great meeting point for locals, visitors, and exhibitors alike.
The absolute star is, of course, chocolate, offered in countless forms and expressions: pralines, bars, spreads, sculptures, and artisanal specialties. Alongside the sweets, you will also find savory snacks, assorted delicacies, regional products, and craft stalls. It is a stroll suitable for all ages, where tasting goes hand-in-hand with discovering local flavors.
Cascina is one of the main hubs of the Valdera, a hilly and flat area extending southeast of Pisa, known for its furniture craftsmanship and artisanal traditions. The chocolate festival fits perfectly into the lively season of markets and food events that brighten up Tuscany during the winter months, offering visitors a great reason to explore the town center and its shops even outside the peak tourist season.
Admission is free, and the atmosphere is that of a classic, informal Italian town square festival: a perfect weekend for chocolate lovers and anyone looking for a sweet treat in the heart of the Tuscan winter.
The 2026 edition confirmed the festival's winning formula: two days of stalls along Corso Matteotti, in the center of Cascina, dedicated to chocolate in all its forms and artisanal sweets, accompanied by savory products, assorted delicacies, regional specialties, and craft stalls.
As highlighted by Claudio Del Sarto, area manager for Confesercenti, the event is now well-established and represents an important meeting point for citizens, visitors, and exhibitors. The event enjoyed the patronage of the municipal administration, with the participation of the Councilor for Commerce, Bice Del Giudice.
