The food and wine excellence of the Terre di Pisa in the heart of the city
The Terre di Pisa Food & Wine Festival is the premier showcase for the food and wine heritage of the Pisan territory. Every year, on the third weekend of October, the central Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, just a short walk from the Pisa Centrale train station, transforms into an open-air market dedicated to the flavors and culinary excellence of the Municipality of Pisa and the entire Terre di Pisa area, in the heart of Tuscany.
The absolute stars are the approximately 80 producers who bring the square to life, offering visitors the chance to discover, taste, and purchase the very best of local tradition. Featured specialties always include:
Beyond the market, the festival offers a rich program of experiential activities: masterclasses dedicated to wine, show cooking sessions with live demonstrations, and tasting tours of wines and beers led by sommeliers and expert tasters, alongside workshops and seminars designed to showcase the excellence of the Terre di Pisa. Entry to the square is free, while participation in masterclasses, show cooking, and tasting tours requires a paid ticket.
Promoted by the Chamber of Commerce of North-West Tuscany, the festival reaffirms its commitment to food sustainability every year, focusing on the promotion of farm-to-table products, the Mediterranean diet, food safety, and waste reduction. A philosophy that combines the pleasure of dining with respect for the land.
The Terre di Pisa Food & Wine Festival is also an opportunity to discover a different side of Pisa, far from the most crowded tourist circuits. The event is enriched by "extra-festival" cultural initiatives that invite visitors to explore the city and its surroundings, including museums, monuments, and culinary itineraries. An ideal weekend for those looking to experience the authentic Tuscany, defined by genuine products, hospitality, and tradition.
From October 16 to 18, 2026, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II hosts the 14th edition of the Terre di Pisa Food & Wine Festival. Scheduled hours are: Friday 4:00 PM-10:00 PM, Saturday 11:00 AM-11:00 PM, Sunday 11:00 AM-9:00 PM.
The established formula of the event is confirmed: about 80 producers in the square's stands, masterclasses on wine, show cooking, guided tasting tours of wines and beers, workshops, and seminars. The 2026 edition reaffirms the focus on food sustainability, farm-to-table products, and the Mediterranean diet.
