About Carciofo Pride

Carciofo Pride is a festival celebrating the Val di Cornia artichoke, the iconic vegetable of the Campiglia Marittima area in the province of Livorno. Every spring, the Parco dei Laghetti di Tufaia in Venturina Terme comes alive with a blend of themed gastronomy, live music, craft markets, and local farm-to-table products. Featuring street food, showcooking by renowned chefs, fun runs, and concerts, it is one of the most anticipated food and wine events on the Tuscan coast, with free admission.

A festival dedicated entirely to the Val di Cornia artichoke

For over a decade, Carciofo Pride has been the event that pays tribute to one of the region's most distinctive products: the Val di Cornia artichoke. Organized by the Seiventurinesese Association in collaboration with the Municipality of Campiglia Marittima (Livorno province) and under the patronage of the Tuscany Region, the event transforms the Parco dei Laghetti di Tufaia in Venturina Terme into a grand village of taste, where the artichoke takes center stage, prepared in countless ways by local restaurateurs.

An event spread throughout the month of April

Carciofo Pride is more than just a weekend festival; it is a widespread program that spans the entire month of April. It kicks off in late March with a preview that takes the Campiglia artichoke beyond regional borders to the wholesale fruit and vegetable market in Milan, before returning to the Val di Cornia with food and wine trekking, showcooking, the "Taste Mondays" at participating restaurants, and the "Carciofo nel Borgo" event, where the product arrives in the medieval historic center of Campiglia Marittima among the town's shops and restaurants.

The grand finale at Parco di Tufaia

The heart of the festival remains the grand finale at the Parco dei Laghetti di Tufaia in Venturina Terme. Here, on the last weekend of April, you will find artichoke-based street food, local craft and farm-to-table markets, live music, and showcooking with chefs and television personalities. The main day features a dozen local restaurants transformed into street food stalls, each offering an original artichoke-based creation: a true gastronomic journey showcasing contemporary Tuscan cuisine.

Tradition, sport, and fun

Beyond the table, Carciofo Pride blends tradition with entertainment: the "Corri Colori" non-competitive run through clouds of colored powder, craft markets, local farms showcasing olive oil, wine, and typical products, and side events in the village such as historical archery competitions. This formula has helped the event grow year after year, becoming a symbolic appointment of the Tuscan spring.

Why it's worth visiting

  • An entire territory told through a single vegetable, the Val di Cornia artichoke
  • Signature street food by local restaurants, always with free admission
  • Live music, showcooking with chefs and TV personalities, and farm-to-table markets
  • A stunning natural setting, the Parco dei Laghetti di Tufaia in Venturina Terme

For those visiting the Etruscan Coast and the Val di Cornia in spring, Carciofo Pride is the perfect opportunity to discover the authentic flavors of this corner of Tuscany.

Carciofo Pride — edition 2026

The 13th edition of Carciofo Pride enlivened the month of April 2026, from the preview at the Milan market on March 28th to the "Carciofo nel Borgo" event on April 19th in the historic center of Campiglia Marittima, culminating in the grand finale on April 25th and 26th at the Parco dei Laghetti di Tufaia in Venturina Terme, featuring street food, live music, and showcooking.

The 13th edition of Carciofo Pride confirmed its widespread formula throughout April 2026, with a program full of events culminating in the grand finale at the Parco dei Laghetti di Tufaia in Venturina Terme.
