Riparbella Wild Boar Festival

A culinary tradition spanning over half a century

The Riparbella Wild Boar Festival is one of the most beloved autumn events in the Pisan hills. Organized by the Pro Loco Riparbella in the municipality of Riparbella, in the heart of Tuscany, the festival has been ushering in the winter season for decades with the intense flavors of Maremma cuisine. The event traditionally takes place over two weekends in November, from Friday to Sunday, and in 2026 it marks its 54th edition, a testament to the continuity that makes it a true local heritage.

Wild boar, the star of the table

At the heart of the event is the wild boar, prepared according to rustic recipes passed down through generations. Under the heated marquee of Parco Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa, Pro Loco volunteers prepare a rich and generous menu that includes:

• pappardelle and lasagna with wild boar ragù
• polenta with cheese and fresh olive oil
• wild boar stew and roast wild boar
• pork shank with beans and mixed grilled meats
• traditional desserts like castagnaccio and cantuccini

The dishes are perfectly complemented by wines from the Pisan hills, an expression of a territory dedicated to quality viticulture.

More than just food: music, entertainment, and murals

The Wild Boar Festival is also a celebration for the entire town. Evenings feature live music, folk groups, and dance parties, while a dedicated area with games and entertainment is set up for children. During the festival, it is also possible to take guided tours of the murals created as part of the "La collina delle Fiabe" (The Hill of Fairy Tales) project, which has transformed Riparbella into a charming painted village. A craft market completes the experience, making the event a perfect opportunity to discover the village and its traditions.

A community-driven event

Beyond its convivial nature, the festival maintains a strong spirit of solidarity: in several editions, the Pro Loco has donated part of the proceeds and organized fundraisers to support local causes and families in need. This added value makes the Riparbella Wild Boar Festival much more than just a gastronomic event; it is an appointment that strengthens community bonds and enhances the identity of this corner of Tuscany.
