Un Bucun per Cantun

A stroll through taste and landscape in the heart of the Saluzzo area

Un Bucun per Cantun is the food and wine walking tour that brings Rifreddo to life, a small town of just over a thousand inhabitants in the Province of Cuneo, in the heart of Piedmont at the foot of Monviso. The idea is simple and successful: combine the pleasure of an outdoor walk with the discovery of local flavours, stopping at each stage to enjoy a different dish. The name itself, in the Piedmontese dialect, tells the spirit of the event: a bite for every corner, meaning a specialty at every turn of the village.

The route and the stages

The route winds along a loop of about 7 kilometres, entirely on paved roads and suitable for everyone, including families and children. Departure and arrival are set at the marquee of the parish sports field. Walking through the streets and hamlets of Rifreddo, participants encounter some of the most evocative places in the village, transformed for the occasion into tasting points: the Monastery of Santa Maria della Stella, the Ciotte shrine, the ancient parish church of San Nicolao, the Angel Ranch, the Sanctuary of Devesio, and Via Moretto.

Eating and walking

Each stop corresponds to a course: starting with an aperitif at the monastery, continuing with appetisers at the shrine, the first course at the ancient parish church of San Nicolao, sorbet at the Angel Ranch, the main course at the Sanctuary of Devesio, cheeses accompanied by jams in Via Moretto, and finally dessert with coffee at the sports field. A complete menu distributed along the path, allowing you to alternate movement with the pleasure of the table.

A community celebration

The event is coordinated by the Pro Loco of Rifreddo in collaboration with numerous local associations, which manage the stands along the route and accompany the groups. It is a young event but already deeply felt, capable of enhancing the historical and landscape heritage of the Cuneo municipality and bringing together residents and visitors for a day of conviviality.
