The international organic and biodynamic wine fair at Tenuta Alois Lageder in Magrè
SUMMA is one of the most refined wine events in South Tyrol, organized for over twenty-five years by Tenuta Alois Lageder in the municipality of Magrè sulla strada del vino (Margreid an der Weinstraße), in the Province of Bolzano, in the Trentino-Alto Adige region. It is not just a trade fair, but a place for meeting and exchange where winemakers, enthusiasts, and experts share ideas in the name of quality, sustainability, and experimentation.
Each edition brings together over one hundred wineries from various countries—from Italy to Austria, Germany to Portugal, Switzerland to France, and even Argentina and Hungary. The common thread is the focus on organic, biodynamic, and sustainable wine: the invited producers share a commitment to environmentally friendly agriculture, values that Tenuta Alois Lageder itself upholds with Demeter biodynamic certification.
The fair takes place in two fascinating locations: the Casòn Hirschprunn and the Tòr Löwengang, ancient residences in Magrè that host the tasting tables. The historic halls and courtyards create an intimate and convivial atmosphere, very different from that of large industry trade shows.
Part of the event's proceeds is donated to local social projects, such as the street newspaper zebra., confirming the spirit of solidarity that accompanies the event.
SUMMA is held every year at the beginning of spring and attracts thousands of visitors from dozens of countries, including sommeliers, restaurateurs, wine merchants, journalists, and casual enthusiasts. It is a unique opportunity to discover an international selection of quality wines in a single weekend within an intimate and authentic South Tyrolean setting.
The twenty-seventh edition of SUMMA was held on Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12, 2026, in the historic residences of Casòn Hirschprunn and Tòr Löwengang in Magrè sulla strada del vino, South Tyrol.
Approximately 115-116 wineries from eight countries (Italy, Austria, Germany, Portugal, Switzerland, France, Argentina, and Hungary) participated, all united by their focus on organic, biodynamic, and sustainable wine. The ticket, available upon registration, provided access to tasting tables, gastronomic stations with sustainable offerings — from modern cuisine to Tyrolean grilled dishes to apple desserts from the local women of Magrè — and drinks. Hours: Saturday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, Sunday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm.
