Concerts and tastings in the evocative Cantina nella Roccia of the Laimburg Winery, along the South Tyrol Wine Road
Melodie di Vini, known in German as WeinKlänge an der Südtiroler Weinstraße, is one of the most evocative autumn festivals in South Tyrol. Created to celebrate the deep bond between wine culture and great music, the event brings a series of excellent concerts into wineries, castles, manors, and historic palaces scattered along one of Italy's oldest and most beautiful wine routes. At each event, the audience enjoys a musical performance followed by the opportunity to taste a selection of fine local wines in unique, history-steeped settings.
In the municipality of Vadena/Pfatten, in the province of Bolzano, the festival stops at the extraordinary Cantina nella Roccia (Felsenkeller) of the Laimburg Winery, the provincial winery attached to the Laimburg Research Centre. This unique environment was created in the late 1980s by excavating directly into the red porphyry of the Monte di Mezzo: tunnels and underground chambers where wine rests at a natural temperature of about 14 °C. In this almost magical setting, illuminated by the bare rock, the festival's concerts take on a special intimacy; at the end of the performance, spectators taste the estate's wines accompanied by a typical South Tyrolean speck platter.
In addition to Vadena, the festival involves numerous municipalities along the South Tyrol Wine Road, from Nalles to Salorno, passing through the capital Bolzano — including Terlano, Andriano, Appiano, Caldaro, Termeno, Egna, and Salorno — offering a rich calendar of concerts in diverse locations: from castles to noble palaces, from farmsteads to cooperative wineries. The repertoire ranges from classical music to jazz, from tango to film scores, for a diverse audience of music and food and wine enthusiasts.
The event is organized by the South Tyrol Wine Road Association together with local tourist boards, under the artistic direction of Johann Finatzer, who curates the musical concept, ensuring the quality of the offerings. Melodie di Vini enhances the oenological, architectural, and landscape heritage of the area, offering visitors an elegant and original way to discover the Autonomous Province of Bolzano and Trentino-South Tyrol in the golden light of autumn, among vineyards, villages, and historic wineries.
The new edition of Melodie di Vini / WeinKlänge along the South Tyrol Wine Road is scheduled from October 16 to November 7, 2026. As in previous editions, the festival will offer a series of concerts paired with tastings of South Tyrolean wines, hosted in historic wineries, castles, and palaces between Nalles and Salorno. The Vadena/Pfatten stage is announced for October 23, 2026 (6:00 PM - 9:00 PM) in the evocative Cantina nella Roccia of the Laimburg Winery. The detailed concert calendar, including artists, times, and wines for tasting, will be communicated by the South Tyrol Wine Road Association in the weeks leading up to the event.
Vadena stage: Cantina nella Roccia (Felsenkeller) of the Laimburg Winery, at the Laimburg Research Centre, near the Laimburg hamlet, Vadena/Pfatten (BZ). Other concerts are held in wineries, castles, and palaces along the South Tyrol Wine Road.
By car via the A22 Brenner motorway (Egna-Ora or Bolzano Sud exit), then towards the Laimburg area. By train to Ora or Bolzano, then local connections. Arriving a little early is recommended, given the winery's location.
Admission includes the concert, a tasting of Laimburg wines, and a speck platter. Limited seating: booking is highly recommended through the South Tyrol Wine Road Association or local tourist boards. In 2025, the ticket for the Vadena stage was approximately 30 euros.
