The food, wine, and cultural festival in the historic center of Alpignano
Every spring, the historic center of Alpignano, a town in the western outskirts of Turin, transforms into a grand experiential trail dedicated to the region's finest offerings. Sapere e Sapori is the food, wine, and cultural festival organized by the Pro Loco Alpignano with the patronage of the Municipality, designed to showcase local products, craftsmanship, and the historical and natural heritage of the valley.
The heart of the festival is the tasting area, where producers from the Susa Valley and Sangone Valley offer wines, cheeses, cured meats, honey, and cookies, joined by stands from various Piedmontese Pro Loco associations. Among the most popular highlights are the cheese-making demonstrations led by technician Rosario Decrรน, in collaboration with the Alpi Cozie Park, which provide a live look at the art of transforming mountain milk.
The festival is about more than just gastronomy. A corner of the square is dedicated to "Saperi d'Autore", featuring meetings with local writers and the participation of the Audido association with their "Svoltiamo pagina" project. These literary events are part of the Salone Off circuit of the Turin International Book Fair and the Maggio dei Libri, confirming the town's strong bond with culture. The experience is completed by local artisans and artists exhibiting their work along the streets of the center.
Guided tours take visitors on a discovery of the historic center, the banks of the Dora Riparia river, and nature trails, blending monuments, local legends, and environmental awareness. There is also plenty for children, with a themed play area and activities dedicated to families. A day of celebration that unites authentic flavors, culture, and local identity in the heart of Piedmont.
The fifth edition of Sapere e Sapori enlivened the historic center of Alpignano on the weekend of May 16-17, 2026, organized by the Pro Loco with the patronage of the Municipality. The event confirmed its formula blending taste, culture, and territory, with an opening on Saturday afternoon and a Sunday entirely dedicated to the event.
The festival takes place in May, over a weekend, in the historic center of Alpignano (Metropolitan City of Turin).
Alpignano is easily accessible by train (Turin-Modane railway line, Alpignano station) and by car from the Turin ring road. The historic center is just a few minutes' walk from the station.
Admission to the festival is free. Some tastings and activities may require a small contribution.
