About Collegno in Bancarella

Collegno in Bancarella is the historic trade fair that brings the center of Collegno, just outside Turin, to life every year on the third Sunday of September. Along Viale XXIV Maggio, Piazza della Repubblica, and Piazza 1° Maggio, around one hundred stalls featuring merchants, artisans, and food producers transform the city streets into a massive open-air market. A traditional event that combines shopping, local products, a flea market, and family activities, drawing thousands of visitors from across the Turin metropolitan area.

A late-summer tradition in Collegno

Collegno in Bancarella is one of the most anticipated events in the calendar of Collegno, a town in the first belt of Turin, Piedmont. With over thirty years of history, the trade fair is traditionally held on the third Sunday of September and marks the ideal end of the summer season, bringing life and movement back to the city center after the August break.

One hundred stalls in the city center

For an entire day, Viale XXIV Maggio, Piazza della Repubblica, and Piazza 1° Maggio are transformed into a large open-air market. Around one hundred stalls animate the event, offering a wide variety of goods:

  • Street vendors with clothing, footwear, and accessories;
  • Craft and creative exhibitors;
  • Food products and gastronomic specialties;
  • The “Cit Mercà”, a flea and vintage market set up in Piazza 1° Maggio.

The fair is organized by the Municipality of Collegno, through the Office for Public Areas Commerce and Economic Promotion, and is considered one of the city's historic commercial events.

Side events and family activities

Collegno in Bancarella is about more than just shopping. In the days leading up to the main Sunday, the program is enriched with numerous side events: Saturday afternoon is dedicated to “Ragazzi in Bancarella - Scambialibri”, an event where young people can trade books, games, comics, and small items, while recent editions have also featured a street food festival along with entertainment and bouncy castles for children.

A destination for the entire Turin area

Thanks to Collegno's location, well-connected to Turin by the metro, the event attracts visitors from the entire metropolitan area. Strolling among the stalls, browsing the flea market treasures, and stopping for a snack has become a late-summer ritual for many families. Admission is free, and the day is perfect for a leisurely pace, combining shopping with a walk through the center of one of the most vibrant cities in the western outskirts of Turin.
