Summer in Rivalta is the summer program promoted by the City of Rivalta di Torino, a municipality in the Turin metropolitan area of Piedmont. From mid-June to the end of September, the festival fills the city's agenda with dozens of events designed for all ages, almost all of which are free to attend. It follows a widespread format: events are not concentrated in a single location but span the entire territory, from the historic center to public parks and the courtyards of the town's most evocative sites.

The festival venues

The heart of the program beats at Parco del Monastero, which hosts outdoor cinema and the "Lights in the Park" initiative, and at Spazio de Ruggiero, home to many concerts. Events are also held in Piazza Gerbidi, Piazza Andrea Filippa, the Monastery Cloister, the Paola Garelli Civic Library, the "Roberto Nigra" Park, and at the foot of the medieval Castello degli Orsini, a symbol of Rivalta overlooking the ancient fortified village.

Music, cinema, and performance

The program alternates between different genres and styles. Musical evenings range from live concerts to brass bands, and from dance nights to disco-dance shows; the cinema under the stars features recent popular hits. There is no shortage of theatrical performances, dance moments, entertainment for children, and outdoor sports activities, balancing light entertainment with more engaging cultural initiatives.

Food festivals and gastronomic events

Among the most anticipated appointments of the season are several themed festivals. The W la Puglia! festival brings street food, folk music, and Apulian traditions to Piazza Gerbidi; the Carbonara Festival celebrates the great flavors of Roman cuisine with a traveling format; the Tomino Cheese Festival pays homage to the local specialty cheese with food and wine stands and workshops. To crown the summer, the White Night (Notte Bianca) transforms the historic center into a widespread celebration featuring acrobatic shows, DJ sets, and entertainment.
