The theatre, music, and circus festival at Teatro Magnetto in Almese
Much like the chameleon that gives it its name, Camaleontika changes its hue with every event: concerts, physical theatre, circus-theatre, storytelling, and monologues alternate in a festival that has become a landmark for live arts lovers in Almese, a small town in the Susa Valley, Province of Turin. The twelfth edition, scheduled for 2026, maintains the formula that has made the festival so well-loved: five shows spread throughout the year, from April 11th to December 12th, all hosted in the Teatro Magnetto hall at via Avigliana 17.
Camaleontika is organised by M.O.V. – Moderne Officine Valsusa and the Fabula Rasa company, under the artistic direction of Beppe Gromi and with the support of a network of volunteers and the Municipality of Almese. It is a grassroots festival, the result of a community that believes in theatre as a space for meeting and reflection: it is no coincidence that the support of the audience and local associations is what allows it to continue year after year.
The 2026 programme blends very different genres and languages. It kicks off on April 11th with Progetto Faber – Le Nuvole, a tribute to Fabrizio De André performed by the BBB Band alongside young musicians. It continues on May 23rd with Dal Sottosuolo – Underground, physical theatre inspired by Dostoevsky. In the autumn, the programme features an a cappella concert by the Turin-based group Real Tune (October 10th), the poetic circus-theatre show Juliet (November 7th), and finally the monologue Freevola (December 12th), which closes the season with irony and a generational perspective.
Camaleontika is proof that live culture is not just for big cities: even a town like Almese, in Piedmont, can offer a rich and curated season capable of speaking to the present day.
