The festival of extra virgin olive oil and the agricultural traditions of the Monti Dauni
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
In the heart of the Daunian Sub-Apennines, in the province of Foggia, the town of Pietramontecorvino—a member of the Borghi più belli d'Italia network—dedicates every summer to an event celebrating extra virgin olive oil and the local agricultural culture: Rosso Cor-vino. The name plays on the village's ancient toponym (Mons Corvinus) and the deep red hue of the Monti Dauni soil and its products. Established in 2023 by the Pro Loco of Pietramontecorvino, the event has grown year after year to become a defining appointment for the community.
Rosso Cor-vino was created to showcase the agricultural sector of Pietramontecorvino and the Monti Dauni, revive deep-rooted traditions and rituals, and promote the region's gastronomic quality and zero-mile cuisine. For this reason, the event goes beyond simple tastings: it is structured as a journey that guides visitors into the values of the farming world.
The festival evenings come alive with free concerts, bringing live music to the alleys and squares of the medieval historic center, one of the most evocative spots in inland Puglia, dominated by the Ducal Palace and the Mother Church. The combination of fine dining, agricultural culture, and entertainment makes Rosso Cor-vino an opportunity to discover an authentic corner of the Monti Dauni, far from the most beaten tourist paths.
Pietramontecorvino, in the province of Foggia, is an ideal stop for those wanting to explore inland Puglia: medieval villages, olive oil, truffles, and typical products of the Daunian Sub-Apennines. During the event, the Pro Loco arranges partnerships with local restaurants and accommodations, making it easy to stay for a few days and enjoy the village at a leisurely pace.
The dates for the 2026 edition of Rosso Cor-vino have not yet been announced. The event, organized by the Pro Loco of Pietramontecorvino (FG) in the heart of the Monti Dauni, traditionally takes place in August and features show cooking, masterclasses on extra virgin olive oil, conferences with producers, guided tours, and free concerts in the ancient village. The program will be published by the organizers later in the season: it is recommended to follow the official Pro Loco channels for updates.
The event takes place in the historic center of Pietramontecorvino (FG), among the squares and alleys of the ancient village in the Daunian Sub-Apennines.
By car: from Foggia, reach Pietramontecorvino by heading up towards the Monti Dauni (approx. 40 km). The most convenient train station is Foggia, a hub on the Adriatic line, from where you can continue by car or bus towards the hinterland.
Admission to cultural initiatives (conferences, masterclasses, concerts) is free; food festival tastings are available for purchase at the stalls. For up-to-date information on dates and the program, it is recommended to contact the Pro Loco of Pietramontecorvino. During the event, special rates are available at local restaurants and B&Bs.
