A week of authentic Ladin culinary delights among the mountain huts of the Skitour La Crusc
Roda dles Saus — which means "the tour of flavours" in the Ladin language — is the gastronomic week that brings the high-altitude mountain huts of the Skitour La Crusc to life every March, in the municipality of Badia/Abtei, Alta Badia (Bolzano province, Trentino-Alto Adige). For seven days, the huts at the foot of the Santa Croce (Sas dla Crusc) massif become stops on a genuine culinary ski safari: you can ski or walk from one ütia to another to taste a different traditional Ladin dish at each location.
Ladin cuisine is rooted in the farming traditions of the Dolomite valleys: hearty yet genuine dishes passed down through generations. During Roda dles Saus, chefs reinterpret these recipes using local products, from sweet to savoury, paired with the finest wines from South Tyrol. The huts are easily accessible on foot from the villages of Badia and La Val, or via the Skitour La Crusc ski route.
The opening day turns the kitchen into a stage: chefs prepare their specialities live, revealing their techniques and secrets in a show cooking event accompanied by live music. It is a unique opportunity to discover the truest flavours of the Dolomites in a convivial atmosphere, set against one of the most spectacular panoramas in Alta Badia.
Roda dles Saus is not a festival concentrated in a single square, but an event spread across the slopes and trails of the Skitour La Crusc. Organised by the Alta Badia Tourist Consortium, it combines sport, tradition, and gastronomy in a format that highlights the territory of the municipality of Badia and the Ladin cultural identity of Val Badia.
The 2026 Flavours Week brought the Skitour La Crusc huts to life from March 15 to 22, at the foot of Santa Croce in the municipality of Badia/Abtei. The inauguration on Sunday, March 15 (from 12:00 to 16:00), featured show cooking where chefs prepared Ladin specialities live, accompanied by music. From March 16 to 22, the five huts — Ütia L'Tamá, Ütia Lé, Ütia Nagler, La Crusc-Santa Croce, and Ranch da André — each served a traditional dish (from 11:00 to 15:00). The week concluded on Sunday, March 22, at Ütia L'Tamá, where the Böhmische de Badia group played traditional music, creating a festive atmosphere.
Follow the SS244 Val Badia state road to Badia, then continue along the San Linert road to the valley station of the La Crusc 1 gondola. The Skitour La Crusc huts can be reached on foot from the villages of Badia and La Val, or on skis along the route.
Participating huts serve their signature dishes throughout the day (generally from 11:00 to 15:00); the opening day features dedicated hours and entertainment with live show cooking and music.
