The end-of-summer festival held at the mountain huts of the Boé area, above Corvara in Alta Badia
La munt de Boé in festa is the end-of-summer festival (known in German as Sommerend-Fest) that takes place at high altitude in the Boé area, above Corvara in Badia, in the Alta Badia region, in the province of Bolzano. From the slopes descending from Corvara to the foot of the Sella Group and towards the Campolongo Pass, the high-altitude mountain huts open their doors for a day of collective celebration filled with live music and delicious culinary specialties.
The event involves four of the most well-known mountain huts and lodges in the Boé area, which simultaneously bring the mountain to life with special menus, panoramic aperitifs, and entertainment:
Each establishment offers the flavors of Ladin and South Tyrolean tradition, from dumplings to strudel, accompanied by local wines and beers, all within a setting of alpine pastures and Dolomite panoramas.
The most anticipated moment of the day is the Boé Slackline Show, held in the early afternoon at the Boé lake (Lech de Boé). Italian and international slackliners perform spectacular maneuvers and acrobatics on highlines and waterlines, suspended in the scenic setting at the foot of the Sella Group. The performance is accompanied by live musical entertainment and animation, creating a perfect blend of outdoor sport, spectacle, and high-altitude nature.
La munt de Boé in festa is designed for those who love to experience the mountains authentically: you can reach the huts on foot along marked trails or comfortably via the ski lifts, spending the entire day hiking, eating well, and enjoying music. The festival symbolically marks the end of the summer season for the mountain pastures of Alta Badia and represents an ideal occasion for families, hikers, and Dolomite enthusiasts who want to bid farewell to summer at high altitude in the municipality of Corvara in Badia.
Corvara in Badia, the tourist heart of Alta Badia, is one of the most famous locations in the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The valley is Ladin land, with a strong linguistic and cultural identity, and in summer it becomes a paradise for hiking around the Sella, Sassongher, and Puez-Odle groups. La munt de Boé in festa combines this alpine tradition with the conviviality of the mountain huts, offering visitors a genuine taste of the mountain lifestyle.
The 2026 end-of-summer festival in the Boé area is scheduled for Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Four high-altitude mountain huts - Piz Boé Alpine Lounge, Rifugio Franz Kostner, Ütia Crëp de Munt, and Malga Munt Planfistí - bring the day to life with special menus, panoramic aperitifs, and live music. In the early afternoon, at the Boé lake, the Boé Slackline Show will be held, featuring highline and waterline acrobats and musical entertainment. Admission to the festival area is free; food and drinks at the huts are available for purchase.
Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, in the Boé area above Corvara in Badia (BZ).
The mountain huts in the Boé area can be reached on foot along marked trails starting from Corvara or the Campolongo Pass, or via the ski lifts: in particular, the Piz Boé Alpine Lounge is served by the Boé gondola.
