When May arrives, La Morra fills with the scent of blooming vineyards, and the Cantina Comunale di La Morra kicks off Profumi di Primavera, the historic spring tasting series dedicated to the new Barolo vintage. Every Saturday of the month, at Via Carlo Alberto 2, in the heart of this village overlooking the Langhe hills, ten local winemakers are on hand to introduce visitors to their wines.
A tasting in the heart of the Langhe
La Morra, in the province of Cuneo, is one of the most renowned areas for Barolo DOCG production: its hills, a UNESCO World Heritage site, are the birthplace of some of Piedmont's most celebrated bottles. Profumi di Primavera was created to celebrate this bond between the village and its wine, offering enthusiasts, curious visitors, and tourists the chance to sample the newly released vintage directly from the producers themselves.
Each session features ten different local producers, who rotate throughout the weeks. This allows returning guests to meet different wineries and gain a broad perspective on the many interpretations of Barolo from the La Morra area.
How it works
The tasting is divided into two daily sessions, morning and afternoon, held within the spaces of the Cantina Comunale. In addition to the featured new vintage, winemakers often offer the opportunity to compare different vintages of this noble red to appreciate how the wine evolves over time. It is an informal and convivial format, designed to encourage direct dialogue between the public and the producers.

The 2026 edition of Profumi di Primavera takes place over the five Saturdays in May (May 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30) at the Cantina Comunale in La Morra. The featured wine is the new 2022 Barolo vintage: at each event, ten different local producers welcome visitors to share their stories and offer tastings, with the opportunity to compare different vintages of this noble Piedmontese red. The tasting is held in two sessions, morning and afternoon, in the center of La Morra, in the heart of the Langhe in the province of Cuneo.
