About Polenta and Wild Boar

Polenta and Wild Boar is the signature winter gastronomic event organized by the Pro Loco of Cambiano, nestled in the hills near Turin. Every year, on a Sunday in January or February, the community gathers at the Pro Loco Area on Via Camporelle for a convivial lunch featuring hearty traditional Piedmontese dishes: polenta served with wild boar stew, beans, and frico, finished with the classic hazelnut cake and zabaione. It is an intimate, family-style event with limited seating and mandatory reservations, which sells out every single year.

When the cold settles over the hills of Turin, Cambiano (Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont) welcomes back one of the most anticipated events on the Pro Loco calendar: the Polenta and Wild Boar lunch. This convivial gathering, held on a Sunday in January or February, brings together members, families, and friends to rediscover the robust and authentic flavors of Piedmontese mountain and hill cuisine.

Where and when

The event takes place at the Pro Loco Area on Via Camporelle, at the corner of Via D'Ovia, a covered and well-equipped venue used by the association for its activities throughout the year. The lunch begins around 12:30 PM, in the warm and familiar atmosphere that has become a hallmark of the Pro Loco of Cambiano.

Traditional menu

The absolute star is the polenta, served in two ways: with savory wild boar stew and, alternatively or as a side, with beans and frico. To round off the meal, guests enjoy a symbol of Piedmontese tradition: hazelnut cake with zabaione. A special menu is also available for children, featuring simple and delicious dishes. Water, wine, and coffee accompany the meal.

L'edizione 2026 di Polenta e Cinghiale si è svolta domenica 1 febbraio 2026, a partire dalle ore 12.30, nell'Area Pro Loco di Via Camporelle a Cambiano. Anche quest'anno il pranzo della Pro Loco ha registrato il tutto esaurito, confermandosi come uno degli appuntamenti gastronomici invernali più amati del paese.

Domenica 1 febbraio 2026 la Pro Loco di Cambiano ha riproposto il suo classico pranzo invernale all'Area Pro Loco di Via Camporelle, con inizio alle ore 12.30. Il menù ha riproposto i grandi protagonisti della tradizione: polenta e cinghiale, frico e fagioli con polenta e, a chiudere, la torta alle nocciole con zabaione. Per i più piccoli era previsto un menù dedicato con plin, hamburger con patatine e torta alle nocciole con gelato. Vista la grande richiesta e i posti limitati, le prenotazioni si sono chiuse con largo anticipo: già a metà gennaio l'evento risultava sold out.

Cambiano is located in the first southeastern belt of Turin, easily accessible by car via the SS10 or the Turin ring road. The Pro Loco Area is located on Via Camporelle, at the corner of Via D'Ovia.
