The festival of typical Gargano products in San Nicandro Garganico
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
In the heart of summer, the historic center of San Nicandro Garganico (Province of Foggia, Puglia) hosts one of the most anticipated food and wine events in the Gargano: the Piazza dei Sapori Garganici. This festival, curated by the Enocibus association, has introduced the typical products of the so-called "Mountain of the Sun" to the entire region. For two evenings, Corso Umberto I is closed to traffic and transformed into a long "square of taste," animated by stalls, music, and thousands of visitors.
The heart of the event lies in the food stalls—thirteen in total—set up along the street. Here, you can taste traditional Gargano specialties: caprino (goat cheese) and other goat cheeses, acquasale, spit-roasted pork, truffle tripe, and sandwiches with musciska, the characteristic dried and spiced meat of the Gargano. There is no shortage of fried foods, stuffed vegetables, and rustic peasant dishes, all paired with local wines.
Beyond the gastronomy, the Piazza dei Sapori offers folk music performances, tarantellas, live concerts, and DJ sets that keep the evenings lively until late at night. The event is part of the Estate Sannicandrese calendar and represents a moment of strong identity for the community: a way to share the culture and traditions of the Gargano through food.
Born from an idea by the Enocibus association, the event has surpassed nineteen editions and, in recent years, has returned to being managed by the very association that founded it. Every summer, it draws visitors from across the Gargano and neighboring towns to the center of San Nicandro Garganico, confirming its status as one of the most iconic festivals in the Province of Foggia.
The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced: the event is traditionally held in the first half of August. It is advisable to follow the Enocibus association and Estate Sannicandrese channels for the updated program.
