The summer festival program of the Municipality of Mattinata, in the Gargano
Mattinata èXtraordinaria is the summer festival program promoted by the Municipality of Mattinata, a white-washed village overlooking the Adriatic in the heart of the Gargano, in the province of Foggia (Puglia). It is not just a single event, but an entire widespread schedule that accompanies the community and visitors from June to September, with appointments dedicated to culture, music, sports, nature, gastronomy, and local traditions.
The strength of the festival lies in its variety and its distribution across the territory: events take place in the town center, along the coast, and in the most evocative locations, such as the Belvedere di Monte Saraceno, a natural terrace overlooking the coast. Throughout the summer, the program features high-profile national guests, concerts, shows, sports events, food and wine tours, and traditional festivals, catering to an audience ranging from families with children to tourists vacationing on the Gargano.
A distinctive feature of the project is the desire to build the program together with the territory: through an Open Call addressed to operators, associations, and businesses in Mattinata and neighboring towns, the program opens up to proposals from the community, which can include cultural, sports, artistic, and experiential initiatives in the official calendar. A way to make the Mattinata summer truly shared and rooted in the identity of the Gargano.
The summer festival program of the Municipality of Mattinata returns in 2026 with a schedule running from June 21 to September 19. The great novelty of this edition is the Open Call, the tool through which the Municipality opens the program to operators, associations, and businesses in Mattinata and neighboring towns to build the Gargano summer together.
A widespread and participatory summer, between the center of Mattinata, the seafront, and the scenic spots of the Gargano, in the province of Foggia.
Events take place in various locations in Mattinata (FG), in the town center, on the seafront, and at scenic sites such as the Belvedere di Monte Saraceno.
Mattinata can be reached by car via the SS89 Garganica; the nearest train stations are Foggia and Manfredonia, which are connected by bus lines. The reference airport is Bari-Palese.
The full program and updates are available on the Municipality of Mattinata website (www.mattinata.it) and on official social media channels. Many festival events offer free admission.
