A market on the village bridge in the Passeier Valley

The Liertner Dorfmarktl is the village market of San Leonardo in Passiria (St. Leonhard in Passeier), a municipality in the Passeier Valley in the province of Bolzano, South Tyrol. The name comes from the local dialect nickname for the village, «Liert», and the event brings market life directly onto the Dorfbrücke, the village bridge, which transforms into a small gastronomic and artisanal treasure chest for the occasion.

Local products, crafts, and music

Several times throughout the year, Passeier Valley producers display their homemade specialties and handcrafted works: gastronomic delights, local products, and small masterpieces of local craftsmanship. Local associations take care of refreshments with food and drinks, while live music creates a pleasant and convivial atmosphere. It is the ideal opportunity to taste, chat with the producers, and discover unique pieces to take home.

An event that follows the seasons

The market is not a single event but a series of dates spread between spring and autumn, from late morning to early afternoon, with a special evening edition on Ferragosto (August 15th). The pedestrian bridge in the center of the village offers an intimate and characteristic setting, easily accessible and just a stone's throw from the services of San Leonardo.

Organization

The Liertner Dorfmarktl is organized by the Tourismusverein Passeiertal (Passeier Valley Tourist Association) and takes place only in good weather. It represents one of the many meeting points that enliven the life of this mountain valley, which remains authentic and deeply tied to its traditions.
