An evening in white along the Wine Road

Kaltern ganz in Weiß / Caldaro in White is the wine event that, at the start of summer, puts the spotlight on the white wines of Caldaro (Kaltern), one of the iconic towns for South Tyrolean viticulture along the famous South Tyrolean Wine Road. The event takes place in the town's Main Square (Marktplatz), which transforms for one evening into a large open-air lounge dedicated to tasting.

The star white wines

Fresh and fruity, ranging from green hay to straw yellow, with hints of apple, banana, or pineapple: this is how the Caldaro whites that bring the evening to life are described. Among the varieties presented, the Sauvignon, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio, and the aromatic Gewürztraminer stand out as typical expressions of the terroir around Lake Caldaro. Local producers are present in person at the tasting stands, ready to answer questions and share insights into their work in the vineyard and cellar.

A local tradition

The evening is part of Caldaro's rich wine calendar, which also features a corresponding event dedicated to red wines ("Caldaro in Red"). Organized by wein.kaltern, the event is an opportunity to discover the wine production of the Municipality of Caldaro sulla strada del vino, in the Province of Bolzano, in the heart of Trentino-South Tyrol, within an informal setting that combines wine culture, gastronomy, and South Tyrolean hospitality.
