A year of music among the castles of Eppan
The KulturKontakt Eppan concert season is one of the most elegant musical events in South Tyrol. Running from January to December in the municipality of Eppan an der Weinstraße (Appiano sulla strada del vino), in the province of Bolzano, it offers a program of classical and contemporary music hosted in the territory's most evocative settings: from the Kultursaal St. Michael to Schloss Englar, from Ansitz Reinsperg to Kellerei Schreckbichl, and the historic Schloss Freudenstein and the cellars of Cornaiano.
The association and its mission
KulturKontakt Eppan is a cultural association founded in 1996 by Heinrich von Mörl with the goal of bringing people of all ages and backgrounds together under the umbrella of culture. Alongside concerts by major international names, the association pays special attention to supporting young talents, offering them space, stages, and opportunities for artistic exchange. This dual vocation—excellence and talent development—is the hallmark of the season.
Great performers and rising stars
The program is distinguished by the quality of its guests: over the years, the season has hosted world-renowned soloists such as violinist Sergey Krylov and pianist Mikhail Pletnev, gold medalist of the Tchaikovsky Competition, as well as prestigious ensembles like the Piano Sextet of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Bayerisches Landesjugendorchester. These are complemented by concerts from the Piano Academy Eppan and more experimental contemporary music offerings.

What makes this season unique is the marriage between the music and the venues that host it. Listening to a piano recital in a castle hall or a chamber trio in the barrel room of a South Tyrolean winery means experiencing music in an intimate and focused dimension, far from the scale of large concert halls. KulturKontakt Eppan — edition 2026
The 2026 edition confirms the dual spirit of the festival: great international performers and the promotion of young talents. Among the most anticipated moments are the recital by the legendary pianist Mikhail Pletnev (May 26) and the opening concert by violinist Sergey Krylov with Lucas Debargue. The summer program brings two prominent Bavarian ensembles to Eppan, while autumn offers chamber concerts in historic residences and events by the Piano Academy Eppan.

Getting there
Eppan an der Weinstraße is located about 8 km southwest of Bolzano. By car, it can be reached via the A22 Brenner motorway (Bolzano South or Egna/Ora exits); by train, the reference station is Bolzano, which is connected by bus to the villages of Eppan. The various concert venues (St. Michael, Girlan) are accessible via the local public transport network or by car.
Tickets
Tickets are available for purchase online via the Ticket.it platform and, subject to availability, at the box office on the evening of the concert. Association members enjoy reserved seating and discounted rates.
