Every summer, the town of Vipiteno (Sterzing), in the Province of Bolzano and the heart of Trentino-South Tyrol, dedicates an entire month to its signature product: yogurt. The Yogurt Days, organized by Latteria Vipiteno in collaboration with local tourist boards and the Monte Cavallo lift facilities, have become a staple of the South Tyrolean calendar. In recent years, the event has been renewed under the Joghurtsommer format, a true summer festival of taste designed for families, residents, and tourists alike.

A month of events between mountain huts and cable cars

The program blends gastronomy with outdoor activities. Tastings at the Yogurt Hut on Via Giovo allow visitors to sample the many varieties of Vipiteno Yogurt in the company of the mascot Matilda, a favorite among children. There are also guided tours of the production facility at the dairy, revealing the secrets of mountain milk processing, and a treasure hunt for families in Racines di Dentro, featuring tastings of handmade butter and yogurt ice cream.

Among the most evocative moments is the cable car dinner on Monte Cavallo, an evening at altitude with a panoramic menu and yogurt-based desserts, and the alpine picnic with a basket full of dairy products, honey, jams, and bread. Those seeking wellness can participate in the Yoga & Yogurt in the mountain hut session, which combines a hike, a yoga class, and a brunch immersed in the alpine landscape of the Giovo Valley, in Racines.
