A dinner suspended between mountain and valley

The Gondeldinner (literally "gondola dinner") is one of the most original culinary events in the Ultental (Val d'Ultimo), the side valley that branches off from Lana towards the Stelvio National Park in the municipality of Ultimo (Ulten), Bolzano province. The event takes place at the base station of the Schwemmalm cable car in Pracupola (Kuppelwies), a hamlet of Santa Valburga (St. Walburg). Guests take their seats inside the cabins, which are transformed into elegantly set, intimate dining rooms, and are served while the lift carries them gently over the valley's pastures and forests.

The heart of the evening is a multi-course menu crafted by Ultental chefs, showcasing local produce: mountain herbs, alpine cheeses, meats, and specialties of traditional South Tyrolean farmhouse cuisine. Each course is paired with selected wines, creating a tasting journey that tells the story of the Ultental's flavors. The combination of high-quality cuisine, the cozy atmosphere of the cabins, and the ever-changing mountain views makes this dinner an unforgettable experience.

An event in the Ultental, Trentino-South Tyrol

The Ultental is one of the most authentic valleys in South Tyrol, famous for its centuries-old farmsteads, ancient larches, and deep connection to rural traditions. The Gondeldinner was born from this spirit: a way to share local hospitality and gastronomy in an exceptional natural setting. The event is organized by the Ultental/Proves Tourist Cooperative, which coordinates the reception and service within the Schwemmalm cabins.
