Bread, the heart of the festival
In Ampezzo, in Carnia, there is a weekend when Piazza Zona Libera della Carnia smells of freshly baked bread. It is the Fiesta dal Pan, dal Formadi e dal Salam, the festival celebrating three symbolic products of the Friulian mountains: artisanal bread, cheeses, and salamis of the Carnic tradition, and with them the simple pleasure of gathering together in the square.
Ovens lit and mountain flavors
During the event, ovens are lit and stands come to life: fragrant bread, local salami and cheeses, Friulian wines, and craft beer, accompanied by tastings of typical products. Among the most popular events are the bread-making and cheesemaking demonstrations with the Petris family, the workshops for children ("Let's knead together!"), and carriage rides for the whole family.
Carnic music and atmosphere
The festival is accompanied by live folk music, with groups like the Ghidina Folk animating the square, and a typically Carnic convivial atmosphere. Organized by the Pro Loco Tinisa with the support of the Municipality of Ampezzo (Province of Udine), the Fiesta dal Pan is a delicious and authentic event, perfect for discovering the flavors and gastronomic culture of Alta Carnia.
Fiesta dal Pan — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Fiesta dal Pan, dal Formadi e dal Salam is scheduled for Saturday May 23 and Sunday May 24 in Piazza Zona Libera della Carnia in Ampezzo. Two days dedicated to Carnia's bread, cheeses, and salamis, organized by Pro Loco Tinisa, featuring tastings, entertainment for children, and music.
Programme Fiesta dal Pan 2026
The 2026 program, based on the established structure of the event, includes:
- Saturday, May 23: Stands open in the afternoon with fragrant bread, local salami and cheeses, tastings of typical products, wine and craft beer, children's entertainment, and live music, with a DJ set in the evening;
- Sunday, May 24: From the morning, the market opens and folk music begins, with tastings of bread, cheeses, and salamis, children's workshops ("Let's knead together!"), and cheesemaking demonstrations with the Petris family, plus carriage rides all day long.
