Artist residencies and contemporary art scattered across the Langhe villages
Resté – contemporary art paths and experiences is a widespread project spanning the municipalities of Cerretto Langhe, Diano d'Alba, Montelupo Albese, and Rodello, in the heart of the Langhe in the province of Cuneo, Piedmont. In 2026, Resté enters its fourth year, solidifying its role as a cultural platform capable of bringing contemporary art out of museums and into the hilly landscape, among vineyards, villages, and hamlets.
Unlike a traditional festival, Resté focuses on permanent artistic interventions and participatory practices: the works are not merely exhibited, but remain in the territory, engaging in a dialogue with the community that inhabits it. The project's name itself plays on this concept of staying, dwelling, and leaving a mark.
Resté is one of the projects comprising ORMA – Tracce d'artista in Langhe Monferrato Roero, the major initiative promoted by the Langhe Monferrato Roero Tourism Board. From May to November 2026, it connects over 60 municipalities through various contemporary art experiences and artist residencies, under the patronage of the Piedmont Region. Cerretto Langhe, a small village of a few hundred inhabitants overlooking the Cuneo hills, thus becomes part of a regional artistic map that unites the Langhe, Monferrato, and Roero areas.
The heart of the project lies in its artist residencies, carried out in collaboration with entities such as Farm Cultural Park, the GART – Galleria d'Arte di Neive, and, for the PoEM collective, the Teatro Stabile di Torino – National Theatre. Artists live in the territory for several days, exploring it and producing new works in close contact with the locals.
Visiting Resté in Cerretto Langhe means combining the discovery of contemporary art with one of Italy's most celebrated landscapes: the UNESCO World Heritage wine-growing hills of the Langhe. Between residencies and exhibitions, visitors can traverse vineyards, hamlets, and scenic viewpoints in a slow-paced journey that connects artworks, landscapes, and the people of the Province of Cuneo.
The 2026 edition of Resté confirms the formula of contemporary art scattered across Cerretto Langhe, Diano d'Alba, Montelupo Albese, and Rodello, within the regional program ORMA – Tracce d'artista in Langhe Monferrato Roero (May-November 2026). The fourth year of the project consolidates the network of collaborations with Farm Cultural Park, the GART – Galleria d'Arte di Neive, and the Teatro Stabile di Torino – National Theatre, offering a path that crosses residencies, exhibitions, workshops, and new site-specific productions in the Langhe landscape.
The program is coordinated by the Langhe Monferrato Roero Tourism Board as part of ORMA; dates and appointments may be updated on the official website.
Cerretto Langhe is located in the province of Cuneo, in the Langhe region, about 30 km from Alba. By car, it can be reached from the A6 Turin-Savona motorway (Marene or Mondovì exits) or from the Alba area by driving along the hilly roads. The nearest train station is in Alba, from where you can continue by car or local bus connections.
The Resté program runs from spring until the end of 2026, with events and residencies spread throughout the months (from May to November as part of ORMA, with extensions until winter).
As this is a widespread art project, it is advisable to check the updated calendar of residencies, exhibitions, and visits in advance. Combine your visit with the food and wine discovery of the Langhe: local wines, hazelnuts, and truffles.
