The craft beer and fermentation culture festival in Saluzzo
C'è Fermento is one of the most anticipated events of the Saluzzo summer: a festival entirely dedicated to craft beer and the broader culture of fermentation, which attracts enthusiasts, producers, and curious visitors from all over Piedmont and beyond to Saluzzo, in the province of Cuneo, every year. The event takes place within the spaces of Il Quartiere, the former Musso Barracks, whose courtyards and halls provide a striking backdrop for tastings and gatherings.
The heart of the event lies in its carefully selected craft breweries: Piedmontese and Italian producers joined by prestigious international guests, all offering their creations through a tasting journey designed to showcase diverse styles, regions, and production philosophies. Alongside the breweries, there is space for industry consortia, fermentation producers (ranging from cheese to vinegar, kombucha to bread), and a selection of street food from various Italian regions.
C'è Fermento is more than just a tasting event: the program is packed with workshops and in-depth sessions led by experts, dedicated to fermentation in all its forms. Topics range from Japanese fermentation to water-based ferments and the world of vinegar, with meetings designed to introduce the public to often-overlooked subjects. A podcast lounge hosts interviews and conversations with producers and educators.
Evenings are brought to life by live concerts, DJ sets, board games, and recreational activities in the Cortile d'Onore, making the festival a complete experience where the pleasure of fine drinking meets entertainment and social connection. Admission to the festival is free: to participate in tastings, visitors purchase the event's branded glass.
Organized by the Fondazione Amleto Bertoni, C'è Fermento has become a showcase for quality craft beer over the years and an opportunity to promote the Saluzzo area and the Province of Cuneo in Piedmont. With its focus on fermentation culture and small-scale independent production, the event appeals to connoisseurs and those simply looking to spend pleasant evenings enjoying good drinks and great food.
