The regional festival celebrating Quagliano grapes and wine in Costigliole Saluzzo
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Quagliano Grape Festival is the event that best captures the identity of Costigliole Saluzzo, a village in the Saluzzo area of the province of Cuneo, in Piedmont. The absolute star is the Quagliano grape, an indigenous variety grown on the hills surrounding the town, used to produce a sweet, aromatic, and slightly sparkling wine traditionally associated with conviviality and the local territory. Recognized as a regional festival, it is among the oldest and most deep-rooted events in the Cuneo area: the 2025 edition marked its 88th year, a testament to a continuity spanning generations of local residents.
During the festival, the historic center comes alive from morning until night. The streets and squares host markets featuring local produce and handicrafts, while historic buildings such as Palazzo Sarriod De La Tour and Palazzo Giriodi host art and photography exhibitions. There is no shortage of fruit and vegetable stalls, Quagliano wine tastings, and Piedmontese culinary specialties prepared by the Pro Loco and local associations.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Costigliole Saluzzo in collaboration with the municipal administration and local associations, from the Alpini to cultural groups. The festival is also an opportunity to discover Costigliole Saluzzo and the Varaita Valley, a land of castles, noble palaces, and vine-covered hills at the foot of Monviso. Visiting the Quagliano Grape Festival means immersing yourself in an authentic celebration where wine becomes a pretext to celebrate the community, rural memory, and the pleasure of being together.
The festival is traditionally held in the latter part of September, often spanning the last Sunday of the month, with a format that extends over several days between Friday and Sunday.
The 2026 edition of the Quagliano Grape Festival marks the 89th in the event's history, following the 88th held in September 2025. The festival is expected in late September 2026, following the custom that has placed the festival at the end of the month in Costigliole Saluzzo for decades.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition, including concerts, shows, schedules, and tastings, will be announced by the Pro Loco and the Municipality in the weeks leading up to the event. The final dates are being confirmed: it is advisable to check the official channels of the Municipality of Costigliole Saluzzo and the Pro Loco as the date approaches.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be published by the organizers in the weeks preceding the festival. Based on recent editions, the event usually offers themed dinners and tastings, musical evenings with concerts and DJ sets, a market of local products and crafts through the village streets, an official inauguration with the Santa Cecilia Band, art and photography exhibitions in historic palaces, and street performances.

Costigliole Saluzzo is located in the province of Cuneo, at the entrance to the Varaita Valley. By car, it can be reached via the SS589 between Saluzzo and Cuneo; the reference railway stations are Saluzzo and Cuneo, which are then connected by local buses.
Access to the festival streets, markets, and shows is generally free. Tastings, dinners, and food stalls are paid according to the price lists set by the Pro Loco and organizing associations.
Arrive on Sunday morning to experience the market and the official inauguration; Friday and Saturday evenings are instead focused on concerts and DJ sets. Wear comfortable shoes to explore the historic center.
