The food and wine festival of the Villa hamlet, featuring agnolotti, villuccio, and the Castle village in Verzuolo
The Agnolotto d'la Vila and Villuccio Festival is one of the most beloved events in the Villa di Verzuolo hamlet, located in the municipality of Verzuolo, in the province of Cuneo, on the edge of the Piedmontese Saluzzo area. Organized with passion by the Pro Loco of Villa di Verzuolo, the event brings the village gathered around the Castle of Verzuolo and the ancient parish churches to life for several days, turning the entire community into one large, spread-out dining table across courtyards, squares, and alleys.
The heart of the festival lies in two iconic local preparations. The agnolotto d'la Vila is born from a jealously guarded recipe, refined by local gastronomy and the village market: a stuffed pasta that tells the story of Piedmontese peasant cooking. Alongside it, the villuccio, a sweet treat reinterpreted by the hamlet's bakers, completes the tasting journey. These two symbols are accompanied by mixed cold cuts, meat main courses, and wines from the Cuneo hills.
The festival is about more than just food. The evenings feature live concerts, traveling jazz festivals between churches and courtyards, folk dancing, and popular music. Guided tours of the Castle of Verzuolo and the ancient parish churches are also organized, with special openings that allow visitors to discover the village's historical heritage. Conferences and meetings dedicated to tourism and local development enrich the program.
Among the most recent additions is «Camina e Mangia a la Vila ed Versol», a gourmet walk with multiple stops through the village, designed to enjoy traditional dishes while strolling through the beauty of the hamlet, in collaboration with local businesses and associations. A free shuttle service connects the Piazza Willy Burgo parking lot to the castle entrance throughout the festival.
The Agnolotto d'la Vila and Villuccio Festival represents a living example of the Piedmontese festival tradition: an event built by the volunteer work of the Pro Loco, capable of uniting various local entities around good food, music, and culture. For those visiting the province of Cuneo and the Saluzzo area, it is the ideal opportunity to discover an authentic village and its most genuine flavors.
The 2026 Agnolotto d'la Vila and Villuccio Festival is divided into two parts. The lead-up weekend «Aspettando l'estate» (June 12-14) offers an evening snack at the Castle, orchestra dancing, a wellness day with yoga, holistic treatments, and Tibetan singing bowls, as well as guided tours of the castle and parish churches. The highlight is Sunday, June 28, with the gastronomic festival dedicated to the agnolotto d'la Vila and the villuccio.
Free shuttle service from Piazza Willy Burgo for the duration of the festival.
The Villa di Verzuolo hamlet can be reached by car from Saluzzo (about 5 km) and from Cuneo (about 25 km) via the SP589. During the festival, a free shuttle service operates from the Piazza Willy Burgo parking lot to the Castle entrance. The nearest train station is in Verzuolo, on the Saluzzo-Savigliano line.
Admission to the festival is generally free; some activities (gourmet walk, dinners, guided tours, concerts) require payment and booking. For information and reservations: phone and WhatsApp +39 351 4204004, email [email protected].
We recommend booking limited-capacity experiences such as the gourmet walk and dinners at the Castle in advance.
