The widespread festival of the Po Valley blending music, art, nature, and community
Zana Fest – Valley Currents is one of the most original cultural events in the Paesana area, a small town in the province of Cuneo nestled at the foot of Monviso in Piedmont. More than just an event, it is a widespread cultural project that aims to tell the story of the Po Valley, starting from its land, its hamlets, and the memory of its communities, to imagine a more sustainable, participatory, and fun future together.
Promoted by the Paesana Pro Loco, the La Ca de Tüi collective, and Arci Piemonte, Zana Fest puts people and places at the center: local artists, associations, young people, and families gather to share music, art, sports, and reflections on mountain life.
The festival's guiding thread is the idea of culture on the margins: bringing artistic proposals and moments of discussion to places where they usually do not reach, in alpine villages and valleys. This is the origin of the talks with artistic directors from other regional festivals, exhibitions dedicated to valley artists, and itinerant theater paths that cross forests and historic hamlets.
The program alternates outdoor activities with moments of in-depth study. Bike rides along the Monviso cycle path allow you to discover the valley's landscape while pedaling through breathtaking views, while walking theater guides the audience along trails to the most hidden hamlets. The exhibition spaces showcase the research of ceramists, painters, and architects who have chosen the valley as their place of work and life.
From 2026, Zana Fest transforms into a true widespread festival: no longer a single stop, but multiple appointments distributed across the Po Valley territory over the months. Admission to all activities is free, in line with the inclusive and participatory spirit of the event. For those visiting Paesana and the Cuneo area, it is the perfect opportunity to experience the mountains authentically, far from the most crowded tourist circuits.
The 2026 edition, the third, marks a turning point for Zana Fest – Valley Currents: no longer a single weekend, but a widespread festival with three stops distributed across the Po Valley territory. The first stop takes place in Paesana on Saturday, June 27, 2026, while the other two are scheduled for September (Saturday the 12th in the upper valley and Sunday the 20th in the lower valley).
The organization is handled by the Paesana Pro Loco, the La Ca de Tüi collective, and Arci Piemonte. Admission to all activities is free.
The festival continues with two stops: Saturday, September 12 in the upper valley and Sunday, September 20 in the lower valley. The detailed program for these stops is announced progressively on the festival's social media channels.
Paesana can be reached by car from Saluzzo along the SP589 towards Valle Po; from Cuneo and Turin, follow the motorway and then the provincial roads towards the Saluzzo area. The town center is about an hour from Cuneo and an hour and a half from Turin.
Admission to all activities is free. Some workshops and routes (such as the walking theater) require mandatory registration for organizational reasons.
For bike rides and walks, comfortable trekking clothing and shoes are recommended; an e-bike rental service is also available. The updated program is published progressively on the festival's social media channels.
