In Zoreri, a small village in the municipality of Terragnolo, within the Vallagarina valley (Province of Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige), Carnival is not a flashy parade but a true community celebration. Every year, the Gruppo Iniziative Zoreri organizes this event, bringing the most authentic flavors of the Trentino mountains to the table and filling the valley with joy.

Gastronomic traditions

The heart of the festival is the serving of traditional dishes. The pots are filled with polenta, accompanied by sauerkraut, mortadella, musetti, and the characteristic scodeghe col pel (pork rinds with skin), all washed down with a glass of good wine. These are the hearty, rustic dishes of peasant cuisine, prepared by volunteers and served to everyone who makes the trip to Zoreri to share in the day.

Costumes and the parade

In the afternoon, the festival comes alive with the costume parade: children and families march in their outfits, and the most creative ones are awarded prizes. It is the most anticipated moment for the little ones, who bring the village square to life with their disguises.

Part of the Carnevale in Vallagarina

The Zoreri event is part of the larger Carnevale in Vallagarina festival, a calendar coordinated by the APT Rovereto Vallagarina and Monte Baldo that brings together dozens of parties, pasta feasts, and village carnivals across Rovereto, Mori, Vallarsa, Terragnolo, and other municipalities in the valley. Each village showcases its own specialties, creating a true itinerary of taste and popular Trentino tradition throughout the Carnival season.
