The most folkloric Christmas market in Vallarsa, featuring Krampus, a living Nativity, and horse-drawn carriage rides

The Camposilvano Christmas Village is one of the most evocative and folkloric Christmas events in the Municipality of Vallarsa, in the province of Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige. Every December, the tiny hamlet of Camposilvano, perched on the slopes rising toward Mount Pasubio and the Pian delle Fugazze Pass, dresses up in lights and decorations, welcoming visitors into an atmosphere of festive, authentic mountain tradition.
Along the village streets, craft markets are set up featuring handmade products, Christmas decorations, and traditional sweets, accompanied by food and wine stalls offering local valley specialties. Strolling through the illuminated districts, with the accordions of Die Original Fleimstaler providing the soundtrack for the two-day event, is the best way to soak up the spirit of a Trentino Christmas.
The heart of the event is the living Nativity, set up in the picturesque Contrà de Là in collaboration with the Vallarsa Museum of Peasant Civilization, which preserves the memory of rural life from the past. Not to be missed is the ancient Krampus tradition: the parade of the Vallarsa Krampus Group «Zimbar Taifel» is one of the most anticipated moments, with eerie figures in fur costumes and horns roaming the village amidst fire and cowbells. In some editions, the parade is accompanied by the arrival of Saint Nicholas.
The Village is designed primarily for families: there is no shortage of children's entertainment, face painting, creative workshops (such as Christmas wreath making organized by the ALTEA Association), and romantic horse-drawn carriage rides through the village streets. Gospel concerts and musical performances in the Church of the Most Holy Trinity complete the program in various editions.
The event is promoted by the «Camposilvano è…» Association with the support of the Municipality of Vallarsa, the Vallarsa Pro Loco, the Zimbar Taifel group, and the Rovereto and Vallagarina Tourist Board. To easily reach the hamlet, a free shuttle service is provided from the Pian delle Fugazze Pass, with frequent trips during the two days.
The dates for the 2026 edition of the Camposilvano Christmas Village have not yet been announced. Based on previous editions, the event is expected to return on a weekend in December in the hamlet of Camposilvano, in the Municipality of Vallarsa (Trentino-Alto Adige), featuring craft markets, a living Nativity, the Zimbar Taifel Krampus parade, and a shuttle service from the Pian delle Fugazze Pass. The program will be published by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event.
