A gourmet multi-course lunch through the terraced vineyards of the Val di Cembra
The Wine Trekking Gourmet is one of the most original experiences in the Trentino food and wine scene: a gourmet lunch served not at a table, but along the trail. The route, a loop of approximately 5 kilometers, crosses the terraced vineyards of Cembra and Lisignago, supported by the characteristic dry-stone walls that define the slopes of the Val di Cembra, in the municipality of Cembra Lisignago (Province of Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige). At each stop, participants pause to savor a different course, from appetizer to dessert, immersed in the warm colors of autumn.
The culinary proposal is coordinated by Michelin-starred chef Alessandro Gilmozzi, owner of the El Molin restaurant in Cavalese, who leads a group of local chefs in preparing the dishes served along the route. Each course is designed to highlight the area's mountain products and is paired with Val di Cembra wines—vertical whites, sparkling wines, and grappas—presented and explained by a sommelier at every stop. It is a way to combine the pleasure of dining with the slow discovery of the landscape.
Wine Trekking Gourmet is one of the flagship events of Dolo-Vini-Miti, the festival dedicated to vertical wines and high-altitude products from the Cembra and Fiemme valleys. The event is a tribute to the heroic viticulture that characterizes these slopes, recognized as a Historic Rural Landscape of Italy. Walking among the terraced rows means experiencing firsthand the effort and beauty of mountain agricultural work passed down from generation to generation.
The event, organized by the Fiemme and Cembra Tourist Board, combines gentle hiking, wine culture, and haute cuisine in a single day, offering participants a privileged look at one of the most evocative wine landscapes in Trentino.
The new edition of the Wine Trekking Gourmet will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, in Cembra Lisignago, in the Val di Cembra (Trentino-Alto Adige), as a flagship gastronomic event of the fourth edition of Dolo-Vini-Miti, scheduled from October 1 to 4, 2026. The format remains the one that made the event famous: a gourmet multi-course lunch along a 5 km loop trail through the terraced vineyards, with staggered departures starting from late morning.
For 2026, the culinary proposal is once again coordinated by Michelin-starred chef Alessandro Gilmozzi together with local chefs, with each course paired with mountain wines from the Val di Cembra presented by a sommelier. The detailed program—chefs, dishes, and stops—is currently being defined: it is recommended to check the Fiemme and Cembra Tourist Board website for updates and for ticket pre-sales, which are mandatory and limited in number.
Cembra Lisignago is located in the Val di Cembra, about 25 km from Trento. By car, it can be reached via the SS12 and SP71; the nearest train station is in Trento, which is then connected by regional buses.
Participation is by reservation with mandatory advance booking (in recent editions, the cost has been around 60 euros per person). Spots are limited: it is recommended to book well in advance through the Fiemme and Cembra Tourist Board (tel. +39 0462 241111, [email protected]).
Wear comfortable trekking shoes and layered clothing suitable for the autumn mountain climate.
