Two weekends of flavors from the Florentine Mountains at the Circolo Arci in Pelago
The Wild Boar, Tortelli and Grilled Meat Festival is one of the most anticipated food and wine events in the municipality of Pelago, a village in the Florentine Mountains in the Province of Florence, just a few kilometers from Pontassieve and the Tuscan capital. For two consecutive weekends, the Circolo Arci of Pelago, located in Piazza Lorenzo Ghiberti, transforms into a great meeting point to rediscover the genuine flavors of the local farming and hunting traditions.
The festival menu focuses on typical dishes from the Florentine Mountains, prepared according to home-style recipes. Specialties include:
The dishes are accompanied by local wines and the convivial atmosphere typical of Tuscan village festivals.
The event stems from the synergy between the Squadra La Banduccia and the Gruppo Cacciatori Il Passatore, two associations deeply rooted in the social life of Pelago. More than just a gastronomic festival, it represents a gathering point for the residents of the municipality and the many visitors who reach the Circolo Arci from neighboring areas every year.
Located between the hills rising towards the Pratomagno and the Valdarno, Pelago is a small Tuscany municipality rich in picturesque views, olive trees, and ancient villages. Attending the Wild Boar, Tortelli and Grilled Meat Festival is also an opportunity to discover a less touristy but authentic corner of the Florence area, where the table remains the primary language of hospitality.
The 2026 edition of the Wild Boar, Tortelli and Grilled Meat Festival was held at the Circolo Arci in Pelago on May 16, 17, 23 and 24. The kitchen offered typical dishes from the Florentine Mountains: potato tortelli, stewed wild boar, wild boar with seven flavors, and white wild boar, as well as grilled meats.
The event, with free admission, confirmed the two-weekend format organized by the Squadra La Banduccia and the Gruppo Cacciatori Il Passatore, with indoor service available even in case of rain.
